By pushing the push button, air from the compressor can be bypassed into the air duster nozzle to produce a powerful air blast, useful for clearing up the job site floor or the work piece. The AF506 features a slim nose tip to allow for increased visibility and easy access to the fastening point and this slim nose enables the user to shoot nails into confined spaces. The nose adapter prevents the surface of the work piece from being scratched or damaged. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: What type of compressor does this need, oiled or dry ?**
A: I can’t be definitive as I’m no expert. The nailer comes with oil and lubrication instructions. I assume my compressor is dry as there is no oiling point but after a few weeks extensive use it’s all working perfectly.

**Q: It don’t say say anything about oil does it come with oil**
A: This is a pneumatic device with an external strike plate. The two sliding parts which move against each other can be lightly oiled as routine maintenance but there is no oil reservoir. A small bottle of light oil comes in the case for the above maintenance. I use my gun for home DIY and expect the oil to last some years.

**Q: Is this air operated only? Doesnt use any batteries?**
A: The Brad Nailer operates on compressed air generated by the Makita Compressor. There are many mail guns available on the market that are powered by rechargeable batteries which generally are much more expensive but more flexible and built to fire heavier nails.

**Q: What air compressor would i need, iv never used one beffor?**
A: I have a 24 litre compressor that is more than capable of giving extended periods of use even when disconnected from power

Highly recommended. Easy to use straight from the carry case. Strong and a good weight. Feels well made and totally reliable. In the first 8 hours of use we didn’t experience any jamming at all which is rare for these type of guns. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.
