The product description says both 3x and 4x; which is it?

It depends on the distance that you you use to see the item you want to magnify. So buy some and see. In my case I'd say that 4x is probably the highest you can get. Good luck!

I'm the firestarter...

... well, actually no, the fresnel lens is. Very easy to get a piece of paper smoldering if it is sunny out, and is a servicable magnifying glass and a nice small, convenient ruler.

Great Product

These are great quality for the price. Easy to use and carry. The size of a credit card and easily stored in a book, wallet or anywhere. I actually had people asking for one once they saw it. Great to use to read labels or tiny writing. I think this is one of those things you know you need once you see it because it's convenient and useful. I almost forgot you could use these to start a fire in case of emergency. I was reminded that kids once used these to burn ants back in the day!
