Men's Classic Herringbone Tweed Wool Blend Newsboy Ivy Hat (Large/X-Large, Charcoal)

I had ordered a cap like this before and returned it as it was MUCH smaller than expected and had to return it (with restocking fee it was almost a wash. Different supplier.). So i was very hesitant to try again. Now i wish i had ordered two. It fits on the smaller size so that a L/XL is more of a L but it fits very well on my 23" head ( size7 3/8). The construction is very good. Very comfortable. Looks good even on my ugly head. It is lined and filled so it should keep your head very warm in cold weather. Label says... "X.Q High Quality. 20% wool 80 % polyester. L/XL. Made in China" Arrived a week earlier than i was told, always a plus. UPDATE: Bought another one, charcoal plaid this time. Slightly tighter than the first even after getting a haircut (lost my mullet). But still good quality blend, especially for the money and came in early (over 2 week estimate... got here within the week). Still 5 stars! I measured the last one with dental floss. Unstretched is 22 3/4'. Stretched is 23 1/2. Pretty much right what it is supposed to be for a L/XL. I assume the elastic makes it feel tighter because it is a strong 2" long elastic band sewn into the back. First one had snap front. Second one with same label does not. It is sewn in place. My only complaint... every time I come back to the page for the hat it has dropped in price $13 last week. $7 this week. ADDENDUM: I liked the first too caps so much... I decided to order a third. This time it was less than $8. GREAT! Though the picture was the same here on the order page it came from a different seller straight from China. When it arrived (3 weeks earlier than Amazon estimated) it was readily apparent it was not the same cap manufacturer as the two previous I had ordered. The size adjustment was by 3 snaps and fit MUCH tighter than the previous two. Though it is lined, it is not a filled quilted lining like the two others, only a single thin one. The label states only "made in china" with no mention of the fabric blend. The bill is supported by cardboard and not the heavy duty plastic of the first two. I contacted the seller for a return only to find I had to pay return shipping which to china is 8-10 times the cost of the cap (though they did agree to refund a portion of my cost as an alternative to mailing it back... after Amazon kindly intervened on my behalf).

Very comfortable, and fits me perfectly. It's a little on the heavy side for summer wear, but it's great in spring and fall. I will probably order more of this model at some point.

I own a number of fitted wool caps from the Irish Mucros brand and consider them some of the best wool hats I have in my collection. This hat doesn't compare at all, and one wouldn't expect it to, given it is more than a third of the price of a basic Mucros cap. Nonetheless, if you want a cheap, less-warm casual hat you can toss in the back of the car for when you need it, this hat is a fine option since it is a single layer of wool-like material with a thin lining. Unlike most hats of this style where the brim and hat are held together by a snap, this one I got is sewed together into one piece. The ad on Amazon says this hat is 100% wool, and I think the outer layer is likely wool. There are no tags in the hat identifying its makeup. It is a good looking hat. I suspect most folks will be very happy with it. However, I wear a 7-5/8 hat size (measures at 23.5 inches) and while I ordered the XL size which claims to fit up to 23.5 inches, I wouldn't expect the hat I received to fit any larger than 23 inches. I can just get it on my head, but it is VERY tight. Plus, the overall dimensions of the hat are quite small so even if I stretched the hat, the hat looks like a child's hat on my head, a problem I've had with other hats made for the Chinese market but sold on Amazon. For this, I knock the rating by one star - even if you have a head that will fit at 23 inches in the extra large, the hats dimensions are just too small to look good. SO - if you have a smaller head, definitely go for one of these since they're a good-looking hat! If you're big headed like myself, go toward a hat with a specified fit.

I have had a lot of compliments on this hat, by men and women alike! I have been wearing newsboy hat for probably at least twenty years now, and this hat is comfortable and sturdy and hopefully long lasting! I wish it had a little more wool in the blend, but it's good enough for every day wear. I have bought two of these hats so far and I will buy a couple more in the future!

It's pretty obvious that there are several different types of hats available under the auspices of Wonderful Fashion. My review is for the one sold by 9HIGH&ETH9. First the good: • I got it for $4 plus free shipping, and it's hard to imagine a better bargain on a hat like this. • The hat that I got fits very well—snugly, but not too tight—and looks pretty darn good. My wife said that she wouldn't have been surprised if it cost closer to $30. Now, the not-so-good: • This hat took a VERY long time to arrive. I ordered it on November 10, and it arrived on January 14. So if you want a hat quickly, avoid this particular seller. • This feels like a very cheaply made hat. The inside has nothing like quilting—it's simply padded with a thin layer of foam. The brim feels like one solid piece of material, so if you don't like how the brim looks, tough—you're stuck with it. • The way it was made—with foam, not quilting—gives it kind of a puffy feel. It also means that, at least for my head, it looks completely ridiculous if I try to wear it backward. In summation: Oh, I don't know. How many hats can you get for $4? I can think of only one: this one. For $4, are you expecting expert craftsmanship? Probably not, but this still feels awfully flimsy. And yet, it looks good, and it feels good too. Basically, if you want a hat that's going to withstand wear and tear, get a Tilley. But if you want a newsboy-type hat on the cheap, this one may fit the bill.

The hat came shipped in a plastic bag and as a result was wrinkled. I ironed it on high heat with steam and manipulated the hat around the end of my ironing board. Worked like a charm and the hat looks nice now. The brim is sturdy and it’s neatly sewn. I only bought this to use for a Halloween costume and don’t have too much knowledge of these kinds of hats, but it seems fine enough for me and my six bucks. There’s not a lot of padding, its lightweight, the outer is wool (or something similar) and the lining is satin with a cotton band that sits on your head. The back stretches a little to accommodate. Can’t beat the price. I don’t know my head size, but I am a female with probably a normal sized head for five foot five inches. At first I thought to get the smaller size, but then decided to err on the bigger size and the hat is a little loose. I am wearing the larger size in the picture. I can wear it comfortably, though, it doesn’t fall over my eyes or anything, just saying I probably would’ve been fine with the small. Average sized adult males will probably be fine with the large. As long as you have an iron, or can borrow the use of one, give the hat a whirl.

I had a hat from this brand that I purchased probably 10 years ago or more. It was my favorite hat and I really loved it. Unfortunately I lost it on a trip to Scotland and so I went to replace it. The quality of this product has declined significantly!! For one, there is no more nice liner in the hat. It is just a cheap liner and band. The hat is not floppy like my old one or like it is in the picture. It is a completely different style, not the one I was looking for. The nice wonderful fashion tag is gone and replace by a cheap piece of paper. You can see the seams and they skimped out on the fabric so it looks small despite being a L/XL. It could be what someone is looking for, but it is not the hat I knew and loved. I’m very disappointed with the decrease in quality, but I guess now I’m switching hat styles.
