It does cling to the hair and might possibly make it appear thicker but that was not the case for me. First, this is a fine powder consistency and the design of the container makes it hard to get just a little to come out. I poofs out like flour or baby powder. I always got too much. In addition, my hair is black and this left my hair with a weird, white haze. It also left my hair feeling like it needed to be washed.I am giving this 3 stars because I believe it can work very well for people with thin, light colored hair. You are supposed to twist the on-off lock button and squeeze the bottle to dispense the powder after shaking gently. I found that shaking in between each spritz helps to dispense easily.
