These are much better than Depends and much better than trying a diaper with a liner (such as Poise). Prior to tranquility, I had to change everything: pj's, bed pad, blanket, sheets, mattress pad, etc. because leakage was such that a bed pad couldn't contain the over flow. Once I started using Tranquility, when there is overflow, it is mostly confined to the bed pad and her blanket (she wraps herself in the blanket so if there is overflow her blanket is going to get affected too). With Tranquility there are nights when there is no overflow (with Depends there was always a super amount of overflow). The overflow depends on how much fluid she has to drink after 6pm and how late she sleeps in the morning. On a normal night, she'll go to bed around 9pm and get up around 8 to 8:30am in which case there is usually no problem with overflow - remember it depends on fluid intake close to bedtime. However, when she has a restless night, I'll let her sleep until 10:30 or 11:00am. On those occasions, I'm not so lucky - but the overflow is usually confined to the pad beneath her and of course her pjs and blanket (my bed pads are larger than the standard square hospital style bed pads). These pull-ups definitely absorb more than Depends or any other pull-up I've tried thus far. I used these for my father too, before he passed away. Sam's club bargain pull-ups are good enough for the daytime because she'll go to the bathroom on her own during the day. But for night time, these are the best I've found so far.
