However, all palms can benefit from the manganese in these spikes. Time release (like these) are best for indoor palms. Just follow directions on pack and if worried about burning frowns, use a spike or 2 less than recommended for pot/plant size. They are about the easiest way to fertilize a plant. Sticking fertilizer spikes in the pot takes seconds and they last for a couple of months. Thirty spikes in a package means you get a lot of value for one purchase. But do they help the plant grow better? Hard to say! Figuring out how to make my fern happy has been a long, slow process for me, and I’ve changed a lot of factors, so attribution can be difficult. For example, when I started using these fertilizer spikes I had somewhat recently figured out how to water the fern correctly, and it was going into winter. Around spring, still using the fertilizer, I repotted and changed how much light the fern gets. I’m confident the fertilizer hasn’t done anything bad to the fern. Exactly how much it’s helped is harder to know.
