Two hours allows for the candle wax to reach the outside and establish a nice burn pattern thus extending the life of the candle. This timeframe also allows for the candle scent to fully establish while allowing for the longest amount of burn time per candle. How long you burn your candle is ultimately a personal preference and has a direct correlation to the total burn time of the candle.
