How true are the sizes, do they run small or just right for american men size?

Order up one size. I'm 6'0 170lbs and weight lift. XL fits perfectly on chest/shoulders & underarms. I normally wear a Large in outerwear, but this vest would've been too tight around my underarms in a Large.

Are there inside pockets?

No, there arent any. As a side note: the material is very water resistant. I got caught in a rain storm, and my phone was in one of the pockets, and it was completely dry when I pulled it out.

I would go 2 sizes up.. if you want to zip it up. My chest is 46 ish.. L says 47-48. .. so I went XL.... and . I wear it, but it’s not exactly comfortable.. so I ordered an XXL.. and it is perfect.. because I don’t want it fitting very tight
