Great cocealable defensive weapon!
This is a great self defense device. It is small, easily concealed, and appears innocuous until you activate it. Like the description says, most attackers only need to hear and see it in action, and they'll run away. I have it as one of my four levels of self protection that I have on me at all times. I carry pepper spray, this pain pen, a knife, and a nine millimeter on me. I refuse to be a victim, or let anyone around me be one. Although I have never had to use it intentionally, I have accidentally caused it to zap myself. Long story short, it zapped me for about a quarter of a second and it hurt like a MFer! It even left a mark for several days. I can only imagine the damage it would inflict on an attacker. My plan is to zap anyone who accosts me right in their eye sockets for as long as I can after I pepper spraythem, and then when they are incapacitated I will jam it down their throat and zap them for as long as I can then, as well. FAFO! Great defensive weapon, inexpensive and very effective. Please get one for anyone you care about in your life.

4 only because lock and lack of specification
This is a nice stun pen, works how itโs supposed to. I am slightly concerned about how easily the lock out slides, afraid it may unlock in my pocket. But it is a good value for the price, came fully charged, and the noise is quite satisfying! Though, it is longer than I expected, and I really wish they would specify the hertz and milliamps to make it easier to follow state guidelines. All in all, Iโd say itโs worth it

Love it
I love the noise this makes. It can surely scare someone away. I didn't know it was also effective to curb my dog's barking by them just hearing the noise it makes haha. Its a win win for me.

Tazers
This little tazer has met and exceeded my expectations. I give the tazers I buy to female friends of mine and so far they have been met with great expectations and have exceeded these expectations.

Excellent if your know it's limits.
My review is based on the fact that I bought this as a dog deterrent, not self defense : I'm a dog walker and have become fed up with rude off leash dogs, and even worse, off leash dog owners. I walk dogs 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week and am rushed at by "friendly" and aggressive dogs alike at least once a day. This little pen has been a mental health saver for sure, noise based options weren't cutting it and mace refills were expensive plus friendly fire is real with aerosolized options. This little pen has been great, I keep it at the ready in troublesome areas and I have had to use it a few dozen times now with zero failure. I used it twice to tase and run off a dog that was absolutely being aggressive, I was quite worried it wouldn't be strong enough. Not only that, but every other time I have deployed it I don't even need to make contact with the dogs. They hear the noise and I assume detect/smell/something electricity wise and they stop and turn back pretty instantly. I have had them turn back around to try again but as soon as I pop the taser they are back at a safe distance. Haven't had a chance to use it on an owner yet, I have zapped myself a few times and I doubt it would do much to deter an actually angry or aggressive human, but the sound and spark seems to do most of the work for me with the dogs which is what I needed. I'll definitely be buying a few more to keep on hand in case this one goes messing.

i wouldn't entrust ky safty and peace of mind to this device
I've had this product for nearly 2 weeks carrying with me every night on my dog walks. Turned on the product and verified that it was charged four or five times, bit second press the button to hear the whipping sound and turned off and I will be off.on my walk. Last nigh while on our walk, we were closely followed by 2 coyotes for 1ยฝ miles aorund Rose Bowl Loop. A very scarry situation that seened contolled as I brought out my shock pen, powered it on, pointed towards one coyote that cane as close to 10 feet and I pressed button. It started the coyote and my dog, but most importantly it backed the coyote a good 40 feet. I found myself having to repeat 3 more times. It was on thenlast try (fourth) that the tip of the pen behan to make a odd noise and began to smoke. For a second a panicked thinking it had zapped through a garment of miine, but it wasnt the case as I wasn't wearing any sweater or kong sleeve. A fifth oress of the button became necessary and suddenly the top of oen was catching on fire. For a spot second I didn't know what to do as I feared that it may explode on my hand and injure me so dropping it was my first instinct which I second guessed as one coyote backed off again but the other inched closer. So I went with tossing towards the coyote who stepped back a few feet. I quickly wrapped the leash around my hand and grabbed it tight while holding on to strobbing flashlight, and proceeded to hobble nack while swinging my cane around with ny free hand. That backed then off. Fortunately a caravan of cars drive down past us, saw the situation and drove us to safety. Product failed. It looks solidly made, I eont knownif it was a flaw isolated to this particular device or if its just a bad priduct. Which ever, at rhis ooint I'm returning and getting something different. Im not gonna risk depending on a pen and have it fail on me again.
