Review: Update after having the treadmill desk for 18 months - I don't remember where I came across the information on how bad for you it is to sit at a desk all day but I was especially struck by the fact that your body kind of shuts down so you don't even produce the same fat-burning enzymes as you would if you just stood up instead of sitting down. I decided that I needed to do something different, I work at a computer 8-10 hours a day. Luckily I own my company so trying out something like this was possible. The LifeSpan treadmill and desk were easy to assemble, I did it myself in about an hour. All pieces and parts are heavy-duty and very solid. I had ordered a desk-mount computer stand at the same time, once I had that added on, I was ready to go. I have used it every day this past week. The treadmill counts your steps and minutes. I am working my way up to doing the whole day walking, the most I have done so far is three hours which makes you sorer than you would think. The other hours of the day, I turned off the treadmill and just stood. While walking, typing and generally concentrating came easily to me. Using the mouse is the hardest thing to get used to. I still turn off the treadmill, for instance, if I am working on a document where I have to cut and paste a lot because selection is hard. I was fit before I started this, could easily hike or walk for miles but I am stiff and sore at the end of the day on the treadmill and took Advil the first couple days, but each day is easier. One of the oddest parts of this is getting to the end of the day having done all my exercise, what's left to do? =) I am considering putting these desk treadmills in at my office so everyone can take advantage. I think there is some loss of productivity but the health benefits for everyone will outweigh that. UPDATE AFTER 18 MONTHS: still love it. My legs are definitely stronger now, even after a few months in the middle where I would just stand but not walk. I have never really gotten to walking for my entire work day but I easily hit my 10,000 step goal each day. The treadmill has had no issues, works quietly and well.
Review: Good customer service! And good treadmill. - Be careful. I'm not sure how to get a hold of the manufacturer, but the display that came with this desktop treadmill is scratched to heck, indicating it is a used product and not new as advertised. I will be returning because of this reason. I rescind my review. This company sent me a new panel for my treadmill and have very good customer service. It turns out I was wrong and the treadmill had a plastic cover over the display which looked scratches. Sorry to the company. Still have this thing! Works great!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Update after having the treadmill desk for 18 months

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid, dependable, easy to use, LIFE CHANGING treadmill desk: Best purchase I've ever made!
*by W***L on December 30, 2017*

I've had this desk since October of 2016 and I love it. It's sturdy, reasonably simple to operate, and I've never been more fit. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to use it thanks to the fact that I get motion sickness really easily - I can't even use Pilates machines that slide around without feeling seasick. I had to start slow, maybe 1.5 miles an hour, and not work more than 1/2 hour or 1 hour for the first week, then gradually I could do more/ walk faster. Now I walk 2 mph for 3 hours every day, while writing. I'm more fit than I've ever been, my neck and back no longer hurt constantly from hours in front of a computer, and I have energy all day long. I also sleep really well at night thanks to all of that walking. I'm 47 years old and this desk has been a godsend for me. If you're going to use a laptop (which I do) you need to get a frame to attach to the desk so your laptop can sit at eye level. Then you get a good keyboard that can sit on the desk at about elbow level. The software that comes with the product and links your mileage to your computer or your phone has never worked for me. I sometimes use a fitbit, which has much better software. But you can also just look at your mileage on the display and write it down before you turn off the treadmill. Honestly, if you're using this desk as your main desk, you slowly get less obsessed with mileage (even though it's fun at first) and you just PREFER to do your work while walking. I strongly recommend starting your work on the treadmill desk in the morning and committing to an hour a day; it's hard to do it in the afternoon, and without a firm commitment to making it part of your daily habit, the thing will just collect dust. But once you use this desk for a few months, you'll find that your attention span is better, you can focus for hours at a time, and you're much more productive while walking than you are sitting down/ achey/ half asleep. You'll also find that you walk and stand more the rest of the time, because that's what your body is used to doing. I can't say enough good things about this desk. I use mine 3 hours a day, sometimes run on it (goes up to 4 miles an hour, which is not that fast but fast enough that you'll break a sweat), and it's holding up just fine. Definitely get the spray that lubricates the treadmill and keep an eye on the belt to make sure it's not listing to one side or the other (you adjust that by tightening one side more and loosening the other - takes a second - I've done this maybe 6 times over the year and three months since I bought the desk). Honestly I don't know why more people don't use treadmill desks. I do want to add that if you're over 35 you probably should also do SOME cardio, strength, stretching a few times a week. If you never do that stuff to balance out your routines and you just walk, you might get repetitive stress injuries from using the desk alone all the time. I do P90X3 or Hard Corps 3-5 times a week (about 30 minutes each); prevents knee and hip and back problems. Throw a minimal strength/ cardio routine into the mix with the desk, though, and you'll be in the best shape of your life. I am not some fitness freak, but I really can't stress enough what it difference it makes to be able to get work done WHILE WALKING. It's just awesome. Best $1800 I've ever spent, hands down. It's improved my life more than I can possibly express here. GET THIS DESK!
