I have purchased this tuna from Amazon for years. They have been rated #1 for quality and safety with mercury levels well below safety standards as tested by an independent testing facilities. Once you try this tuna you will notice the pleasant taste of this tuna. Tuna it solid inside the can and the only the small amount of broth is what is produced by cooking in the can. The inside of the can is BPA free. Yes it is more expensive because each fish is pole line caught. This is not true of the other brands who use nets and catch not only Tuna but other less desirable fish as well and process it all together and label it tuna. I can trust the protein content, the one source tuna, the versatility in many different recipes, and the perfect size. Can comes with the easy to open pull tab. If you want safe, delicious tuna for your family then this the one to buy.

Best tuna I’ve ever had. So fresh and tasty I don’t think I can ever go back to normal tuna. Little expensive but it’s worth it.

very little water, good flavor, not as dry as some, better flavor than most, still dry like most water-packed albacore. Tuna was chunked and not in one fillet so not as high quality of a fish piece as I have seen. I was not blown away but then I am not by water-packed albacore anymore since I have gone back to eating primarily oil-packed yellowfin. That is the taste of real tuna in my opinion. I can see that this is superior to most water-packed tuna but it is not something I would ever pay for again, You can't just a this out of the can like you can a quality Yellowfin in olive oil. Tuna should be preserved in olive oil.

It is very important to me that the earth's natural resources, whether animal, plant, or mineral, be protected from overharvesting to insure the diversity of life forms and that resources will not be depleted. According to the information provided by Wild Planet, they do not use large nets that can capture huge volumes of not only the fish that are the fishermen's target species but also animals like sea turtles and dolphins, which can get caught in the nets and be damaged or killed. I appreciate that very much. Everything about their packaging suggests care for the contents and for those who purchase the product. The cans are much sturdier than a typical can and is well packed, which helps to protect the product from loss or damage due to droppage. Wild Planet also contends that the fish they catch are lower in mercury content and higher in nutrients than fish caught in huge quantities and does not contain additives beyond sea salt. While I do not have the equipment or expertise to confirm that independently, I can confirm that I find their albacore tuna has more robust and delicious flavor than other brands of albacore tuna I have tried. Though it is more expensive, I will absolutely purchase it again.
