COMM1 IFR Radio Simulator

After reading some of the reviews I was apprehensive about purchasing this product. However it had been given good reviews by other aviation groups and I thought it would serve my purposes. The product is excellent in helping you develop your IFR phraseology and that was what I needed. It is very complete in going over the various phases of IFR flying. I give it 4 stars because it is a little buggy. Nothing too restrictive, but it can hang up. You can get out of the hang up, but there can be some funny results. In my case the briefing repeated my inputs twice after backing up to get out of the hung position. Like I said not very bad bugs.

You get the impression that using this is going to be very futuristic and that it's going to actually check what you're saying is correct.It's really just a multiple choice question answer system with a clumsy UI. When you push to talk, you can say blah blah blah blah, as long as you pushed the right button it doesn't matter what you say.I was expecting it to just have me say what I thought I should say, and it would then do voice to text analysis on it. Sadly it isn't that clever. As I said it's just a multiple choice question answer system, that gives the impression it's doing voice analysis.Very disappointing.

Comm1 VFR and IFR have recently been updated and are compatible with the latest Windows 8 and MAC OSX operating systems.

This product [Comm1 IFR simulator] will not work on Mac OS 10 A fact that is not made available by Comm1. (only works on OS 7.5 - 9.5) So unless you haven't updated you Mac for 10 years, you will be returning this product. Tech help is useless. Don't expect any updates in the future either. Zero Stars.
