We read it every night before bed (at her request). It is a little long (as it goes through the whole alphabet) but it easily keeps my little oneโs attention. It discusses a variety of emotions. I read in another review from a preschool teacher that there โisnโt enough positive emotions.โ That review even criticized the first two emotions in the book - โangryโ and โbored.โ Teaching preschool aged children and parenting preschool aged children are two totally different things. While I appreciate the preschool teacherโs desire to remain positive, the fact is that itโs important for parents to help their children understand both good and bad feelings and emotions AND how to react to them. This book opens doors for discussing our reactions to emotions that would otherwise be difficult to bring up. Itโs also culturally diverse which I know will be useful when my kids are a little older. I honestly have no reason NOT to give this book 5 stars. Review: Great to learn emotions! - Very well written! Itโs perfect to teach kids their emotions and how to deal with them. Iโm seriously impressed. Also my therapist had me get this for me to help me learn how to express emotion so really a great book!!!

Good book but little complicated
Itโs a good book for emotions but some are kind of hard to understand for toddlers.

Great reference for children
We love this book. When my three year old gets overwhelmed with an emotion we reference this book and talk about it. And it's got just enough rhyme to read it through over and over.

Donโt like Y is for Yucky
I like this book a lot, and so does my 2 year old! Unfortunately, I donโt like the โY is for yuckyโ. He started calling some vegetables โyuckyโ like the kid in the picture. Previously, he had never used that word. Heโs also a kid who would ask for sautรฉed spinach with garlic and always eat his vegetables before anything else. So Iโm disappointed that heโs learned an undesirable behavior from this book.

Fantastic!
Fun book to teach SEL Weโre really into teaching Social & Emotional Learning (SEL) skills to our daughters (6 & 8). This book is fun to read...The rhymes flow easily and the illustrations are great. I really like that the text has rhyming descriptions that support the illustrations. It has the descriptions of the pose, the emotion, and a situation that my children might actually face in the real world.

Happy to have this to share with kids!
Great, with colorful pictures and cute and snappy rhyming text. Each pages offers a lot to see and to talk about! I like how negative emotions are shown as being equally valuable as the "nice" ones. This is something so important for kids to hear and learn about. As added bonuses, this book's tie-in with the ABCs gives one more way to reinforce letter recognition, and the coloring book offered in this series offers a fun way to engage a little more with learning about emotions.

Great book and learning tool for children!
Wonderful book for young children to help identify emotions and relate them to body language. Great for helping my 3 year old learn social awareness and the fact that it incorporates the alphabet is a bonus. Very happy with this purchase.

Simple enough
This is a good book, but there are a few punctuation errors... Forgetten periods or commas, so it's awkward sometimes. Lol. I would recommend this book though as it has good wording for the emotions.
