Exo Terra Terrarium Screen Cover, Reptile Terrarium Replacement Part, PT2616

Annoyed I had to buy a new one of these cause my daughter fat cat laid on the first and the screen broke out. No fault of the manufacturer though. Otherwise this fit our tank perfectly and looks just as new!

I have an Exo Terra 30-gallon tank for my crested gecko. The tank's measurements are 18" width by 18" depth x 24" height. Our original lid started to bow and rust, but the rest of the tank was in great condition. I decided to give this lid a try, to see if I could replace just the top and... it couldn't possibly fit any better!!! Assembly is as easy as 1. Place on top. 2. Secure. 3. Done. This lid is a replacement for ones that have the 4 swinging hinge clips on the corners. The dimensions say it's appropriate for tanks slightly above 17", but that will fit an 18" tank perfectly because the lid fits inside the tank lip, which accounts for the extra quarter (ish) inch to make 18". I was shocked by how easy (and how well) this turned out for us. For under $40, this lid replacement saved my wallet from buying a whole new tank set up! It sits nice and tight, without any gaps and is as sturdy as the original.

Super handy to have! Fits perfectly in a standard 12x12x18 exoterra cage.

It works, but for the older model, you need to remove the clip holders. An oscillating multitool worked perfectly.

I misplaced my original screen cover for my Zoo-med 18 x 18 x 24 terrarium while it was not being used. I bought this as a replacement, hoping it would fit. With a tiny alteration to the tank rim, it fit perfectly. While it is somewhat expensive, getting the right thickness of glass cut to fit, and taping the edges for safety, would easily cost over half of this price. Exo Terra products are generally very high quality, this screen top is no exception, it is well made.

For OLD MODEL Exo Terra Tank: I bought this knowing it wouldn’t clip in like the old lid did. Someone said with a little “modifying” of the tank it would work and it did! So here’s what I did: I took a utility knife and cut out the old clip holder posts from the top of the tank. I thought it would be hard but with a sharp blade it slides right through. Once those clip holders are gone the lid fits! Of course it’s not going to hinge open like it’s meant to with the new model but it’s the cheapest option for those of us with the old tanks!

It’s a good lid, the metal seems like it might be a little stronger then the original but not by much. It fits good on my 18x18x24 exo terra tank for my crested gecko.

Our old one fell apart due to cat. This replacement fit perfectly and resolved the issue of escaping gecko.
