velona USDA Organic Red Palm Oil - 16 fl oz, Virgin, Cold Pressed, In Jar

VERY expensive but a wonderful oil. Great for cooking and skin, and even better for sauteing and simmered cooking as more of the benefits are retained. This oil gives your cooked food a uniquely delicious flavor and the benefits of organic palm oil are numerous including softer hair and smoother skin. The ONLY drawback is that it coagulates after a few days in your kitchen, unless your kitchen is hot. Any type of cool air and it thickens. So, you have to bang it into the pot or skillet until you have the desired amount. You can also squeeze this huge bottle really hard and it will plop out by the spoon-full. Other than that, it also makes your soups and stews and braises a gorgeous color.

It is a tiny bit grainy. It does not have the beautiful flavor I have read of. Should be great for cooking.

A quality oil that I’ll be using for hair/skin care only. It’s very pure in potency, so I suggest doing a SKIN PATCH TEST prior to face/skin use. It’s very emollient and fast absorbing however too much applied to my face caused some reaction but I know for me it’s due to it being high in antioxidants like Vita E.. as I tried another pure version and got the same result soo I have to use it sparingly on face but besides that it a wonderful skincare product! Hands, knees, elbows and toes + hair for me! Also, when thoroughly rubbed in I don’t experience any residual staining..as some have suggested. A little goes a long way so use it intently and wisely. ;) Packaging was top notch tight bubble wrap with no defects of breakage or leakage! 4 ounce size as indicated. Various sizes are clearly offered so if people read there’s no surprise lies to convey in reviews. If I plan on using regularly in future, I will use this brand/size for my needs.

This product is great for the skin. If you don’t rub it in all the way it will leave an orange tint to the skin. It also stains clothes easily so be aware for ladies with dresses and clothes that are difficult with stain removal. It doesn’t smell bad nor does it really have a scent at all. The container is on the smaller side which is great for carrying in bags without being inconvenienced.

smells like plastic when opening, don't know why they wouldn't put high quality red palm oil in a glass jar, or barring that, why they wouldn't use food grade plastic -recycling symbol triangle with a #5 in it. seriously. sad face.

A very light palm oil. Probably best for those sensitive to strong palm oil flavors or in homemade hair concoctions.
