Wonderful except the frets stick out and scratch.
I love this concert ukulele. This sound is richer than the soprano. It is fun to hear, where as, to me the soprano is ... well higher pitched, and a little irritating. After practicing on it for a few weeks my fingertips hurt so bad, so I got some fingertip covers. My fingertips still feel the workout, but not pain - its like cheating. I love it. I now can practice for 1/2 an hour and enjoy my encounter with this fun instrument. If the frets are planned to stick out so far, that I can easily find the different fret spaces without looking, maybe just a little rounding on the ends would help convince me that my KALA is a great. I love the slender neck as I have small hands. After a few months my strings hold their tune. Over all I am really happy with this purchase. Just round the frets a little, for a pinch more quality.

Lovely lil' ukulele

Frets extremly sharp on sides...
Dislike sharpness of fretd on sides of uku... must be a defect.

High quality, well-made entry-level instrument at a reasonable price
I am a professional musician, and play a solid-wood Pono tenor ukulele as my main instrument. I use my Kala concert ukulele for personal travel and when playing with kids. I recommend Kala's entry-level ukuleles to my beginner students as well. Kala makes consistently good instruments with decent tuning pegs and well-aligned fretboards - which means they play in tune both on the lower frets and up the neck (a basic requirement to make this an instrument, not a toy!), they are easy to tune and stay well in tune once the strings are played a bit (all new nylon strings stretch at first, this is to be expected, but decent tuners are another requirement for a playable instrument). This particular model, the KA-15C, is my favorite of the entry-level ukuleles - the sound is sweet, and it feels good in the hands. Highly recommended.

Bought it as a gift for a friend's birthday, she loved it. The tuner that comes along with it is really helpful and easy to use.

Good For Beginners
It is a good ukulele to start out with. It's a step up from the very inexpensive models. It was purchased for a birthday gift. The wood is a nice color. The recipient is happy with it as a first time experience with a ukulele.
