Get rid of the crap Pro-Ject supplies as a power supply, this will supply all the energy required for your turntable, and at the right voltage. Plenty of cord length, and it is completely compatible with your Pro-Ject. This will hold up and last longer than the wall wart they supply.

Like some of the other reviewers, I bought this as inexpensive alternative to the Pro-Ject High Power It, which is a 15V, 1.0A power supply that retails at about $45, for my Debut Carbon. The main purpose of the High Power It is to offer grounding to turntables in a system that doesn't otherwise offer it. I guess that's a thing. Proper grounding isn't an issue for me, but I was unbelievably fortunate enough to have a friend, and fellow hi-fi enthusiast, gift the table to me. Some upgrades have been done to it, but after changing hands a few times it was being powered by a universal wall wart with an adapter. Gross. Just not something I could live with. While there's no advantage to a power supply from an audio quality perspective, or at least shouldn't be, what they offer is clean and consistent power to the motor spinning the platter. And whether or not fluctuations in speed are a common occurrence with turntables, more reliable power is never a bad thing. If you ask any "true" audiophile (the ones with a single speaker that costs 10x what my entire system did), they'll tell you it's always better to be prepared for anything that could negatively impact your listening experience, no matter how unlikely. This is why they'll spend insane amounts of money on power supplies for their turntables, as opposed to not being willing to cough up $45. But anyway, I decided against the High Power It not only because of price, but also due to its negative reviews. It's underpowered for what is and how much it costs, and some folks have said that it added hum and made the table sound worse. That shouldn't be possible, unless they had one of those systems without grounding I mentioned before. But why take the chance? So I came to good old Amazon to find one for my needs. Fortunately, some of these other folks had the idea before me, so I had reviews to help with my decision. After reading the two glowing reviews for this power supply being used for turntables by the same manufacturer as mine, I knew I'd found what I was looking for! Nice little unit, for sure. Nothing crazy spectacular, but exactly what I needed. You know, a power supply. It's also rated at 4A rather than 1A like that other one. The table obviously doesn't need all that power, but it's only going to draw what it needs, and should be an easy load for this one. I find the construction to be just fine. Everything fits together properly. And for the price, especially considering a power cord is included, I couldn't really ask for much more. As the other reviewers mentioned, it's a direct fit for Pro-Ject turntables, so no adapter. This was a big factor in my decision. I guess this is a good thing too, because at least one negative review mentioned them not fitting snugly and falling off. For me, that would no doubt make me go with a different option. If you're thinking of purchasing this, I'd try to make sure your application wouldn't require an adapter. But that's just my opinion. I'm also, fortunately, not having any issues with excessive heat like some other reviewers. It's basically right above room temperature. Far cooler than my laptop and powered desktop speaker power supplies. It might be because I'm not asking much from it, or maybe I just got lucky. As far as sound quality goes, as I said earlier, there is no earthly reason that a power supply should affect the quality of the audio. I read in one of the other reviews that it had improved imaging and the soundstage, I believe. Even they acknowledged that this shouldn't be. And while science and logic would disagree with the statement, I believe it. First of all, it's their system, and if they say it sounds better then it must sound better. And in the end, that's all that matters anyway. Secondly, it is possible, at least theoretically, that the motor hasn't been running efficiently and causing the speed of the platter to be off. That could absolutely have a negative effect on the quality of the audio. The point of this is, while I didn't have quite the same experience, if you feel like system, and specifically your turntable, are missing a little something, this might be worth a shot. It certainly can't hurt. Very happy with my purchase. While I have no experience with it otherwise, and only time will how long it lasts, I can definitely recommend it to anyone looking to use it in the same way I am. Simple, well constructed, and a fantastic value. There shouldn't be any advantage from an audio quality perspective to adding a power supply to a turntable. The sole function is to spin the platter. The main purpose of the High Power It is to offer proper grounding to tables that are part of a system that wouldn't otherwise offer it. While I can't wrap my head around that, apparently, it's a thing. However, what a power supply does offer, is more power, that's also clean and consistent. In theory, this means that the platter should always spin at the proper speed, as opposed to possibly changing speeds, even ever so slightly, due to fluctuations in current. Probably seems like a lot of thought went into this, and therefore must be a common issue. Well, it's not. But audiophiles are conditioned to think of any issue that could possibly occur, no matter how unlikely, and then worry about it incessantly until they find preventative measures they can take to avoid it.

I probably should wait a little longer before writing a review, as I just got it and have less than 4 hours of use on it. I will revise my review if my opinion changes, or I notice some new aspect to this power supply that I didn't notice before. To start, I was elated that the turntable did not blow up when I connected it...I was so worried that something about it might be incompatible with my Classic Pro-Ject turntable. I have read reviews where that has happened with an incompatible power supply used on the wrong turntable... I double-checked all the aspects, but it was still kinda scary. My Opinion is that people hearing a more focused soundstage and other sound improvements, comes about because the motor is running quieter, less background noise. That noise might be so low level that it is not noticeable on a day-to-day basis, or is only noticeable to you on a subconscious level. And so you hear a change somehow, not sure exactly what it is and you come to conclusions... On first plugging it in I was getting a high-pitched buzz at about 17khz to 19khz barely audible. I have had that happen with other electronics also when new and first plugged in, its just part of the burn in process for many types of electronics, where they need to be burned in before they start reaching their full potential. It has quickly subsided, and is no longer apparent unless I really concentrate, I suspect it will be complete gone after about 24 hours of burn in time. To my ears, I think the motor itself is now running quieter than it did with the original adapter. The reason for this is the three prong ground plug and the fact that I no longer have two wall warts plugged in sitting right next to each other. Adjacent power supplies can develop a "phantom circuit" through magnetic induction. So if you're getting a hum check this out. I was getting some speed variation in speed stability with the original power supply. ( This was eventually attributed to changing the spindle oil. ) That was a while back, mostly running faster than normal, but that has corrected itself on its own over time. So I delayed buying anything. (Correction, I bought a Furman power conditioner) I originally tagged this power supply long ago, and had forgotten about it in my wish list. Lately I noticed that it was being discounted a small amount, so on a whim decided to purchase it... Although, it was not really needed anymore. So far so good, runs quiet and stable. If things change, I will update the review.

Listing stated it is compatible with Pro-ject turntables, this will not power my turntable at all other than making the motor try to move a fraction of an inch and then nothing. Return window has passed when I finally was able to hook it up, now I've got an expensive doorstop....

I purchased to replace the oem power supply (wall wart) for my Pro-Ject DC Carbon turntable. The oe power unit stopped working and I didn’t want to spend $30.00 for another oem one. I stumble upon this unit on Amazon and purchased it. Received it today and connected it to my turntable and fired it up. I couldn’t tell you if it affected the sound quality of my TT. I can tell you that after the first song I got lost in the music and ended up spinning records for about an hour. So far, so good. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because there is a burr on the ground post prong where the cord plugs into the transformer box.

This is a very good product, but expensive.

I have two Asian made audio integrated power amplifiers that have a power requirement (variable) from 12 to 15 volts. The external power bricks provided with them are just 12V models, and with my experiences with various audio products that feature variable voltage requirements, I felt that these 12V versions wouldn't really be enough to generate the amplifier capabilities that I was anticipating. This then had me searching for additional external power bricks and I came across these fixed 15V versions that were priced very reasonably. I was a bit stunned to find them, because off-the-wall 15V versions are hard to come by. So I ordered two of them. When they arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were of high quality construction. I immediately connected them to the two power amps that I mentioned. What followed was a discernible improvement in audio qualities, specifically an increase in the dynamic abilities of those amps. So my speculation ahead of time paid off. These 15V power bricks were a marked improvement over the stock 12V versions that came with the amps. So, when you look around, you will see a multitude of power brick options, ranging from 5V up to 32V. But it is rare that you will find one in an off-the-wall rating for 15V. I'm just glad that I found this particular model. The purchase was well worth it, thus my 5-star rating.

I bought this as a spare supply for my Kurzweil PC4 keyboard on the recommendation of a very knowledgeable friend. It works perfectly, has more than enough power (4A as opposed to 2.5A for the original unit), plugs directly into the keyboard (no adapter necessary) and was 1/3rd of the price of a second branded adapter. Full marks all around!

Needed this for a project and worked as it should.

Bought this about 18 months ago for a system requiring 15V 4A adapter and it seemed to be working well until about 2 months ago when the unit it was attached to started behaving erratically on occasion, and completely won't power on today. Testing the adapter shows it's supplying 15V and 1A. Looking more closely at the Amazon info. "Included components" and on the product itself shows "15V 4A" but on the "About this item" it shows 15V 1A Happy while it lasted, bummed that it looks like I have to get a replacement and the specs are not consistent
