Over the last few years, I've used several cheep LED light strips/tape, and while it is true that the cheep strips "work" they have all been fairly dull in light intensity and very easy to crimp. The moment I opened up the HitLight the quality was instantly evident. The tape strip is heavy and crimp resistant. Even the adhesion of the LED to the strip was solid and durable... But the brightness of these LEDs is astounding. The only tricky part to using HitLights is choosing the correct accessories. Depending upon the length of tape you use, be sure to calculate the wattage needed. Not all power sorces will work for all lengths of tape. Take the time to do the reading. Visit the HitLight page before purchasing to make sure you've got the correct accessories. These lights are more expensive that most other options in LED light strips, but the quality is well worth the money.

10 August, 2013: I use these "double density" LED lights in a shed as a replacement for one 2x32Watt fluorescent fixture. This light strip is brighter and comes to full brightness immediately in freezing temps, unlike the fluorescent lamps. No humming (unlike the fluorescents) and they don't trip the GFCI outlet that powers the shed (unlike the fluorescents).I'm glad I send to this double-density light strip - the regular would not have been bright enough. In my 13 foot long shed, the light is a little low for reading, but that's fine (the light strip is 7 feet above the floor).When I was searching for lights, I looked at the lumen output for an indication of what I'd need compared to the fluorescent lamps and to a 100 Watt incandescent bulb. LED lighting is finally reaching the output we're all used to.For added physical protection in the shed, I slid the light strip into a 5/8 id polyvinyl hose (hint for installing: use a light duty string and a vacuum cleaner).Last, I used the 12v 6A adaptor power, ASIN: B003TUMDWG. No problems. BTW, the lights take 1/4(?) second to turn on with this adapter. No warm-up time and an insignificant delay (to me).Update on 1 September 2014: These lights are still working as well as the day they were installed. For our use, the light isn't bright, but is very adequate for a shed.

I used these light strips for an inspection table at my work. I used an old florescent light housing and removed the ballast and bulb clips and applied the strips with the adhesive backing. Soldering the strips together was easy. I have one 4' 4-bulb fixture with 16 strips of LED's and it puts out far more light than an ordinary florescent fixture. I used a PWM dimmer to adjust the brightness. I wired these LED's in series to be able to use a 24 volt power supply with no problems.PROS: Excellent color consistency, Easy application, Uniform brightness, Excellent light output.CONS: Had to add some solder to a couple of LED's on the strip that had a bad connection that caused them to flicker but it only affected a group of 3 LED's the rest of the strip was fine (I Used 8 rolls in total and it was only 2 occurrences.Some of the pre-soldered joints were slightly crooked so I had to straighten the strip when I was applying it.

I used this product to line my shelf in my walk in closet. The bright light allows me to clearly see my clothes and distinguish between colors like black verses blue. I put a remote clicker on the cord so I can just click the light on an off.

Used the same brand LED dimmer switch - driver incorporated. 18 gauge stranded wire. Soldered it on. Works great.

I ran over 80' of these SMD 3528's in my garage as accent lighting. They are just bright enough for a nice atmosphere. Installation is a bit troublesome, if you are running continuous lengths as I did. The quick connect coupling wires will not work without cutting two joining sections, as the plastic clip runs into the led, not allowing it to close. When you cut off the two joining sections, it renders the next strip useless without removing 3" of LED's, wasteful to say the least. I ended up soldering wires to the sections to join them. So much for a quick painless install.Also, the adhesive used to mount the LED's is not installed flat, so you have waves in the LED's that don't have adhesive adhered, which makes it difficult to get even light disbursement when installed. You have to cut the adhesive tape in these areas and it will finally lay flat after flexing it.Overall, this is a quality made LED, and it provided the accent lighting I needed.

These are the 4th set of LED light strips I've purchased and they're excellent. These are the double density versions and the LEDs are spaced 5/16" apart center-to-center. When illuminated, they produce a continuous "bar" of light which is great for uniform illumination. I'm using these for under-cabinet lighting and they are perfect as they can be cut to length (they're marked approx. 1" at every 3rd LED with copper contacts for the edge connector). The color temperature on these is 6000K which is cool white and about as white as you can get. It's riight for my purpose but you may want 4500K or even 2700K if you're looking for a warmer (more yellow, less bluish), incandescent bulb type of light.
