What happens if you use for carbonated drinks?

Nothing…. I use carbonated drinks in mine all the time. I just don’t fill it all the way up. If you fill it up to the top with any beverage it will seep out a little

Question for the manufacturer, can I get a replacement o ring for the base?

I did not ask for a replacement O ring, however Zulu did send me a new lid to replace the broken rubber ring on the lid. This part controls the auto open of the lid, which is livable but it was still under warranty, less than a year old. Great customer service.

does the bottom leak?

We order two. One black and one white. I opened the bottom to wash it. It leaked after reassembling it. I contacted the seller. They replaced it. The new one does not leak but I did not open it from the bottom again.
