I've been looking for the perfect stainless steel bowls for our cats. Beans--in the picture--has the dreaded chin acne--but I couldn't find reasonably priced whisker stress bowls with the appropriate dish size and depth. These are THE BEST! Beans not only has acne. Although he is very sweet he is also very whiney. If he was a human male we would not have gotten past the second date, so he's lucky he's a cat. For the first time in almost 11 years he doesn't screem at me every time I go near the bowls because the brilliant ribbed for his pleasure design allows the kibble to cascade gently to the bottom every time, hence no dreaded hole in the bottom of the bowl. They are reasonably heavy, and they do not have integrated no-slip feet which I appreciate. Instead, each bowl comes with its own silicone mat that securely keeps it in place. In combination with a silicone under mat, slippage and spillage are eliminated. I got the set of two, and filled they have plenty of food to keep the troops (2 cats) happy if I go away overnight. They are a bit sharp on the bottom, but I think that serves to keep them in place on their little mats. I'm irrationally thrilled with this purchase, and now that Beans isn't constantly whining, if he magically turns into a human we won't have to break up ;)

These are great. They are sturdy but light weight. The rings in the metal make them great as slow-feeders (slows your pet down while eating so they don't make themselves sick and also keeps food from being pushed out of the bowl by food aggressive pets). I recommend for dry food but not for soft food or broths because of the rings- they make it difficult to get soft food out of the grooves. The rubber mats for underneath keep the bowls from slipping around on the floor. The only drawback is that there is a small cut-away area on the side - it allows air to get under the bowl and keeps it dry but kibble can also get knocked in there. This can be really entertaining if you like watching your cat attempt to get the kibble out of there but not if you don't want to see your cat going insane until they get the kibble. This is a set that comes with two bowls. Because the bowls are low and side, cats don't get "whisker fatigue" from their whiskers rubbing against the side of a deeper dish. Not recommended for water. Easy to clean - just be sure to dry completely.

I had small bowls for my small cat and she didn't really want to eat from them. For 3 years I've had to toss full bowls of food and feed her on the flat table. I finally figured out it is the whiskers!! I grabbed these in stainless (to reduce bacteria, easy to clean, does not promote kitty acne) and got the bases with them too. She finally eats from her new trays! I ended up getting the under mat, bowl bases and these in stainless so everything matches in my kitchen. They are stylish (kind of look like my Lecreuset lids) and they are easy to wash. Can't believe I never found these sooner. She eats from them!! I use 1 for wet food and one for dry. Never going back to bowls. You could do water in these too, I just have a seperate large Yeti water bowl she uses. I recommend getting the bases with these to elevate them a bit more. These are great!

We noticed that our one Siamese kept trying to pull her dry food out of the old bowl with her paw and figured she was having whisker sensitivity. We ordered 2 stainless steel bowls and both of our cats seem to like eating out of these much better than the old ones we had, and our Siamese especially loves it. No more pulling the food out with her paw. The only thing I am not crazy about is that the circular rubber bottom for each bowl doesnt attach, you just set the bowl into the grooves of the rubber bottom. Maybe thats to make the bowl easier to clean, and they are, just wash and dry. I would recommend these.

We've been having a lot of trouble finding the right food and water setup for our cat. She needs a slow feeder, but the ones with ridges must have hurt her whiskers because she was never able to get to all of it. We also needed a setup that could handle being bumped by the Roomba, as we didn't want to spend $$$ on their barriers. These stainless steel bowls are GREAT for those purposes when combined with the matching CatGuru food table. They are wide enough that we can spread out our cat's food across the whole bowl, forcing her to eat a bit slower. The wide, shallow bowl is much more whisker-friendly, too! Best of all, when combined with the food table, and placed on an inexpensive tray, these bowls are not disturbed when the Roomba bumps them. The non-slip ring on the inside makes them nest perfectly in the food tables, and the cut out on the bottom makes them super easy to pick up. There's also dishwasher safe, which is a must for our household. This works perfectly for our purposes and I'm really happy with them.

highly recommend, my cat eats most of her food with these bowls. the ridges keep it closer to the center so less food is wasted. with regular bowls she wouldn’t eat food against the edge due to her whiskers, but this bowl greatly lessens that.

easy to clean but not ideal for large meal sizes

They are exactly as described and my cats love that they don’t touch their whiskers. Great if you are working on portion control as they are not too deep.
