Review: Great book! - My 11 year old is obsessed with Egyptian history and learning about the pyramids, Egyptian gods, and mummies. He’s read this book over and over, and learned SO much! He even shared some of his knowledge in class during their Egypt studies at school. Great buy!! Review: Present for my seven-year-old - Maybe this was a premature gift for a little girl, her age but she has a huge interest in the Egyptian pantheon as she loves Thoth and Anubis. Because the words are a bit too old for her I do have to read her the stories, but she seems to be pretty interested and I’m sure as she goes older she will grow even more interested in this. If your child isn’t specifically interested in this subject, I would wait till they’re about 10 years old before purchasing.

Fantastic, beautiful book!
My 8 year old loves this book and I do too! Informative and well written and the beautiful illustrations really bring it to life. Excellent choice for kids (or adults!) interested in learning more about gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt.

Colorful, Showy Pictures And Easily-Read Text For Small Kids.
The pictures are attention-grabbing but the Egyptian gods of antiquity each 'protected' too many things. I think a child might ignore the overlap but adults could find it confusing. This reviewer is old. As a small kid I believe that pictures of Disney characters would have been more attracting for me. In the old days teaching a young child about many gods might have been a No-No. However in this day and age I doubt that it makes any difference to parents who are monotheistic--if any still exist.

SPED Scaffolding!
This book is perfect for breaking down individual stories in Egyptian mythology. It allows students to access the learning by having it scaffolded in a way that allows them bite-size chunks of stories (knowledge). Each story is a stepping stone through a new world that they have no previous knowledge of, ergo, students can learn about a new land/place/time one step at a time and not feel overwhelmed by thousands of years of cultural information. Thank you... :)

Interesting and accessible introduction to Egyptian mythology for primary school aged kids
My daughter loves this book. She is 7 years old and is able to read the book independently. I try to read it with her once in a while to discuss it. The author has done a fantastic job of making Egyptian mythology accessible and interesting for elementary school aged children. At the end of each chapter there are great short write ups with photographic examples of the one of the topics discussed, such as the pyramids at Giza.

Great for Middle Schooler!
My tween keeps this book by his bed and thumbs through it frequently. It's informative and a great vocabulary-builder. It also opens the door to more reading as he follows his interest. Great investment! I wish it came in hardback.

Beautiful illustrations
The illustrations in this book is what made me want to buy it, they're so beautiful and make the Egyptian gods appear properly cosmic. I also like that they weren't made in a fake Egyptian style, which again makes them look timeless. The stories are well written, simple and to the point (it is for kids after all), but with quite a lot of depth in there. You can see that they were written by someone that knows and loves Egyptian history and mythology. As with all mythologies at times they can be confusing and strange (like some divinities are siblings and also married, sometimes even son and husband), but that's mythology for you. They're not supposed to be normal humans, and I'm glad the writer didn't rewrite those "weird" bits. And by the way, I didn't buy the book for kids, and bought it for myself, and I love it :)

great source of Egyptian gods
Bought for my 6 year old daughter who is really into Egyptian myth and gods recently. She loves the book & it doesn't feel childish. Approximately at 5th grade reading level. It's detailed, well written and colourfully illustrated.
