How to Build Max Performance Chevy LT1/LT4 Engines

Excellent step by step guide, great photos and advice.

I've built a lot of engines from lawnmower to race engines but never built an LT1/LT4 engine. While this book isn't great, it does provide the information about the unique aspects of the LT1/LT4 engine. It also provides dyno results of various component combinations which could be very useful to someone looking to increase the hp of their engine.

I grew up with the small block Chevy engine and have a very good understanding of this time tested engine. I recently bought a Corvette with the LT4 and wanted to understand what I was getting my into with this engine. In the past I had always avoid the LT1/LT4 figuring it was a bridge engine to the new LS engines. This book explains the the LT engine very well and how to stretch it to make even more power. It shows air flow stock and ported heads as well of several aftermarket heads. It explains the engines strengths and weakness with solutions on how to improve it. This book is a good way to really start understanding and appreciating this engine.

Just skims over high performance, not as in depth or technical as I was hoping for

This is a great book. Explains in detail every step during assembly. Lots of tips and tricks. Several performance builds from mild to wild Fully documented with dyno results if you want to copy one and know exactly what you have. My favorite LT1 resource book.

Are you one of those people that has to take your stuff apart and put it back together your way? Or to see how its wearing, or make reasonable modifications to plant you into the seat harder? If you are, and you have plans of rebuilding this series of engines, this is the best information that I have found to supplement the GM manual. this is a book full of all the facts you want to know about when it comes to building a LT1 or LT4 Engine all the boring stuff you dont care about is taken out, and it shows how to get maximum Horse Power out of this little power plant of a Motor..

Excellent book with decent pictures and very detailed, experience driven advice. Not for the beginner, but, a good reference for those who have some engine knowledge under their belts.
