RuoKid Solar Street Lights Outdoor Lamp

I was looking for a fairly inexpensive but effective solar powered flood light to light up a corner outside by my shed that is very dark and where I have seen some critters in the past that have scared the hell out of me! This light is just the answer. The first one I bought had some instruction booklet that was not exactly accurate but adequate enough to figure out how to assemble it. It toke me only a few minutes to get it up and running. I did have to find my own wood screws to use to mount the provided pole on my wood shed. The only other problem I had was that the U shaped metal bracket that mounts the solar panel, did not have a center punched hole but had two close to the center.(I used one of those.). Even without fully being charged for over 3 days due to cloudy/rainy weather, the light still came on and stayed on. Once it got charged up, it nows stays on all night, as I have it on the dusk to dawn setting. I did email their support to ask a question and they responded back right away. I even gave them some suggestions for future lights and they let me know of a new model they are about to release. I was very surprised by their quick and friendly customer service. I had asked if they had an extension cord for the solar panel and they did refer me to a product that I did buy. I have not used it yet as the solar panel is getting charged up more than I thought, so I may not need it at all, but good to have. I liked this light so much, I bought two more for my back driveway and those two DID have a center punched hole in the U shaped metal bracket. The batteries they provide for the remote are rather soft so be careful you don't squeeze them too hard, as I almost did. My only complaint was there is no way to turn the light on except by using the remote. Luckily they provide you with two remotes. Their newer model light does have an on/off switch on the light itself, so they are perfecting their products. The light is good and bright and doing its job. And no AC wires and electric bill charges!! Buy one, you won't be disappointed.

I bought 4 of the JD 198's and after 4 nights I am actually very surprised I installed both on 1 pole 1 on top and the other mounted just below it, 1 facing left the other facing right. Im not sure what they were claiming for Lumens but in my somewhat educated guess I think they might be about 600 Lumens per light. When I leave for work in the morning they have been on for 13 hrs and are still bright and the power light meter still indicates 60% remaining. I live on a dead end street about 1/2 block away from a city street light, Im the last house at the end and its very dark, 2 of these lights have totally solved my light issues. Last few comments don't be afraid its only a 6000 amp hr battery, its going 13 hrs and I think would go 16 if it were dark that long.. Also I never wanted motion activated lights I want them to to stay as bright as possible all night, motion lights normally dim to half power after motion is no longer detected. Lastly the remote is mostly garbage it will work at maybe 5 ft out aimed directly at the sensor on the bottom the light, But for me no issues set as dusk to dawn done! UPDATE: Couple months later... If you live in an area that has cloudy weather in late fall and most of the winter these are NOT for us with the smaller batteries if they don't get at least 5 to 6 hrs sun a day they will only last maybe 4 to 6 hrs. If you have NO sun there dead in the water. They need at least 6 hrs everyday to go through the nite. So great lights, good quality but not power storage for those darker days. Perfect for Cali though...

Review: This seller is excellent, their customer service is superb, Very fast response via email. Took care of a small issue I had w/o questions or hesitation. I already have one of these lights for over 2 years, just bought 2 more, and going to buy 2 more to have all my yard illuminated. My mother is very happy with the one I gifted her. Highly recomendad!!! This light is set to on/off automatically with the light sensor. It works all night at full brightness w/o a problem. I don't have a way to determine if it really outputs 80W or 1500 lumen. I do feel its not as bright as I thought it would be, but it does a great job in my mothers front yard and my parents feel more secure with it. Very strong contruction. Comes with everything you need to install it. The bracket for the solar plate feel weak but it does its work. It came with 2 remote controls!

Good lighting

Light worked fine for 64 days. Then the light comes on and is very dim. I called Amazon for warranty support. I was told that a new light would be sent to me. Three weeks later and not light, no email. Juat another lie from Amazon support.Amazon told me to contact the manfacture for warranty support. RuoKid Solar Street Lights said Amazon provides the warranty. NO PRODUCT WARRANTY NO AMAZON SUPPORT! no 5 YEAR WARRANTY AS AVDERTISED.

Not as bright as it was advertised but its function was as described. Being able to adjust the solar panel is very useful!
