Mountain House Homestyle Chicken Noodle Casserole Freeze-Dried Food for Camping, 10 Servings, 30-Year Shelf-Life

We are minimualist tent campers and most of our meals consist of non perishable items. Sometimes we bring a backpack single burner stove and enjoy a freeze-dried meal. Out of all the different brands we have tried our favorite is Mountain House. Convenient, tasty and fantastic shelf life.

One of my favorite flavors and good value!

I haven’t opened any of my #10 can freeze dried foods, but I eat their packet dinners once a week or so. Preparation is add water, stir, wait 5 minutes, stir again, wait 4 or 5 more minutes, stir and serve. I like the Mountain House meals a lot.

Now admittedly I'm not a smart man but when my wife asks if she's pretty I always say she's pretty enough for me. That's how I feel about this product.

This is my favorite dehydrated chilli of the few I have tested. I opened the can and used over a couple weeks with no issue. I did leave the dry packet in the can and keep the plastic cover on it. The fact that a plastic cover comes with the can implies this product can be opened and resealed for future use. No idea how long an open can will last but a couple weeks was not an issue. Making smaller meals from the can was not difficult. I boiled the same amount of water as the size of the mix. I did 1 cup of mix and added 1 cup of boiling water. I sealed in a bowl using tin foil and it came out perfect. Recommend the can if you can get it cheaper than the pouch. Note the pouch is two servings and the can is 10 servings or equivalent to 5 pouches. Oddly, the larger size can is usually a little more expensive than ordering the same quantity in the smaller pouches. And the pouches last longer since they stayed sealed.

Delicious!!! Easy for quick meals for one or two when it’s a crazy week…time crunch… don’t have a lot of energy or for camping/hiking or trying to save money… easy enough to add greens to if want lol

I'm not sure why the description states it's gluten-free because the ingredients clearly show a wheat warning. Good brand, quality product, shelf life of 30 years but once the can is open, consume it within a week. So, if you just want to try it, you should plan to eat the entire can within a few days of opening it. This will be great for a few friends camping together and easy a quick chili mac meal around the fire in the evening after fun activities all day! It's also great for the prepper who is stocking the bunker or emergency food stock. It's a very lightweight can and doesn't take up much space. The plastic lid on top has a small lip around the edge which makes stacking cans in a column easy and safe.

Very good tasting food, and it feels good to know I have backup food in the pantry, especially with the major storms we've been getting.
