Men's Winter Skiing Jackets Waterproof Thermal Snowboard Coats

I don’t usually write Amazon reviews, but this jacket earned one. I needed a warmer winter coat ASAP because mine weren’t cutting it. Costco options were affordable but underwhelming on warmth and style. Local sporting goods stores had better options — but at much higher prices. I found TACVASEN on Amazon (a brand new to me), saw the strong ratings and purchase volume, and decided to give it a shot. I ordered a Large. The fit is excellent overall. My only minor preference would be slightly longer sleeves — they’re not short, just a touch shorter than I’m used to. Everything else fits perfectly, and I wouldn’t size up. The biggest win: warmth. This jacket is significantly warmer than my previous winter coats. I’ve worn it in cold temps, snow, and light rain, and it’s performed great. It feels well insulated and solidly constructed. It has multiple pockets (2 concealed zipper pockets, 1 chest, 1 internal). The concealed zippers give it a clean, streamlined look and likely help prevent snagging. Unexpected bonus: I chose the black/white/gray camo pattern, and since buying it, I’ve received 3–4 unsolicited compliments — including one person saying it “looks expensive.” That never happened with my older, similar-looking jacket. Bottom line: Very warm, sharp-looking, and priced far below what I was seeing at retail stores. Exceeded expectations.

This jacket seriously impressed me. I wore it hiking Mount Lafayette in New Hampshire during winter with snow, and it handled everything I put it through. At different points I was sliding through the snow and even ended up hitting rocks and trees along the way. I honestly expected to find at least some scratches or damage afterward, but the jacket never ripped or got torn up. That alone showed me how durable it is. It also kept me very warm and did a great job with the snow and moisture. From my experience it has been very waterproof, but it’s still comfortable enough to move around in while hiking. The pockets are useful and comfortable too, especially when you’re outside for a long time. After actually putting it through a winter mountain hike, I’m extremely happy with it. I’m planning on buying another one in a different color this year just so I can have some variety. Definitely one of my favorite winter jackets.

This jacket was perfect for winter snow days and also worked wonderfully on our Alaska cruise. We were able to layer underneath it for extra warmth, while the soft fur lining provided additional insulation without being overly bulky. The waterproof exterior performed very well in rainy weather, keeping the jacket dry and comfortable throughout our excursions. What I liked most is that it provided plenty of warmth without being as heavy or overly insulated as a traditional ski jacket. It was ideal for glacier tours, dog sledding, and other outdoor activities where we needed protection from the elements without overheating. My son is 12 and growing quickly, so I ordered a men’s size. It fits a little big on him, but not excessively so, which means he has room to grow and can continue wearing it for a while. The color looks great on him as well. For travel, I packed it in a vacuum storage bag, which significantly reduced the bulk in our luggage. Even after being compressed, the jacket came out looking great with very few wrinkles. One thing to note is that the hood is detachable. While that’s a nice feature, you do need to keep an eye on the zipper because one side occasionally came loose and needed to be reattached. Overall, this is a well-made, versatile jacket that offers excellent warmth, weather protection, and value for the price. I’m very happy with the quality and would recommend it for winter wear, travel, and outdoor adventures.

You'd be hard pressed to find something better for the price. You can tell that it's a generic coat rather than something that's been designed by a high-end team, but if you aren't bothered by that kind of thing (I'm certainly not), then go for it. I'm 5'8" and I got the US Medium and it fits just right. Plenty of pockets, detachable hood, decent zippers. The style is fine, not super fashionable but doesn't scream cheap. Will be using it for snowboarding next season so I'll updated the review then, but just by look and feel I can tell it's going to be fine. Maybe a few loose threads here or there, but nothing that would compromise the waterproofing from what I can see. It's definitely warm!

Great winter coat, however as a ski jacket it is lacking a few things and has a couple issues. First there is no pocket on the arm for a lift pass, most resorts are going to RFID cards and this coat really doesn't have a convenient pocket for one, Also the zippers are great with the water proofing but it seems to have started getting a sticky zipper leading to difficulty opening and closing it. I have also noticed that there is some fabric wear on one arm cuff that isnt present on the other, no idea how this happened and it doesnt affect much other than some water proofing around the wrist. Those two things bring this down to a 4 star for me. However there is a lot to like about this jacket, the size is true fit i did not need to go up or down in size, it is also very wind resistant, I have hit over 50mph on the slopes wearing this and i stay warm and comfortable. And speaking of warm this coat is great, 20 degree nights with a thermal top and tee shirt kept me warm all night with this coat, if it gets colder than 20 a sweater on under will increase the warmth. The interior fleece helps keep this jacket toasty. there are enough pockets but again there is some minor zipper issues. I will probably be replacing this only due to the wear in the fabric on the arm with a proper snowboarding coat, but for the $50 i spent on it its been better than coats Ive spent $100 on

This is yet another outstanding product from Tacvasen. Very high quality, incredibly warm and comfortable. This is the best winter jacket you will ever own at a price you cannot beat. I bought my son one of these for Christmas and he loves it. Went ahead and got myself one after trying his out and finding how incredibly warm it is, like you're walking around in your own personal heat cocoon. I got mine right in time as we had a string of days where the temps were in the teens and low twenties. I took several long walks in these temperatures, shoveled snow, at one point in freezing sleet and never once did I come close to getting cold. Ran into a guy who was coralling carts outside a grocery store who was wearing the same coat. He said he got in his coat a few years ago as a gift from his wife and it was the best winter coat you ever had. He asked me how much mine cost and when I told him he couldn't believe it. We stood there and talked in 20° weather for 5 minutes about how great these coats are and how warm they keep you. While we were talking he pulled fur lined hood down because he said he was too hot! I told him that every item I've gotten from Tacvasen has been outstanding, including the fleece lined pants I was wearing. He told me he was going to buy some. Tacvasen is a great company with great products. I'm 5'9 and 178 lbs and wear Large in everything.. This size L coat fits me great. My son is 6 ft 2 and 190 lb and his size large fits him great also.

Super nice jacket that does an amazing job in the rain and keeps you dry way better than I expected. The fit is great, the fleece lining makes it warm and comfortable, and the overall quality feels solid for the price. I also really like having multiple pockets including the chest pocket and inside pocket because it makes it easy to carry what you need without stuffing everything in your pants pockets. Overall, this jacket has been an excellent purchase and I’m very happy with it.

I love this coat! It fits my son well. The lining is soft and plush. There are tons of pockets. I am thrilled!

I wanted a mid weight winter coat, with appropriate pockets with zippers, nice inside zippered wallet pocket, phone pocket on outside, side zippered pockets, Xl size fits perfect, roomy on shoulders so, easy to drive wearing, cuffs have Velcro, to make opening smaller, for someone that has short arms, most clothing has sleeves too long, this one is not, and with cuff closures, wrists fit tight, hood, which I personally hate, zips off, only down side is collar does not fold over, but sticks up, which is great as a weather resistance feature, but the front does hit the face a bit, might end up, having wife sew Velcro tabs to fold down and keep the collar folded down at the front. It is warm enough, just as I wanted, overall this jacket is much better than expected and super value for price

Purchased in early winter 2025 when we discovered our kids old coat was ripped. This winter coat had kept him warm all winter. Its gone to a couple winter camps as well. Washes very nicely after those camps, where it came home very muddy. Kiddo loves the camouflage print.
