I got the 3-pack of black socks for $10 on sale, feeling skeptical about the quality but thinking that at about $3.33 per pair for what's described as mostly wool socks, it was worth trying them! I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled them out of the package - they have the rich, smooth-but-textured feel of merino wool, and a nice thickness for a thin sock. You can tell there's a high wool content, but they don't feel scratchy. The 70% wool description is believable. They fit my size 8.5W feet well, without feeling too tight, and the seam across the top of the toes didn't bother me after a little adjusting of its position. I wore a pair with my leather athletic shoes for walking around campus on a cold day, and they stayed comfortable; while my feet weren't as warm as they would have been with thick wool socks and boots, they also didn't get *cold* or too hot, and didn't sweat. They did show a bit of pilling afterward, but I blame that more on the interior of my sneakers than on the socks, and there are no thinning areas or holes. I normally wear bamboo-viscose for my thin socks, but these are much better for cold weather, and if they continue to wear well, I'll be ordering the 6-pack soon!

I bought these socks to take on a May 2025 trip to England and France, knowing the weather might be warm or chilly. They were wonderful. They kept my feet warm, but not too hot. They are thin wool and when I washed them in the evening they were dry by the next morning. I have been using them at home since that time and they have held up very well. They haven't lost their elasticity and still look as good as when I purchased them. I highly recommend these socks and will buy them again when mine wear out.

We live in desert of Arizona and I love these socks in the winter. I wear sandals all summer and these in the winter. Our winter's are not super cold but it gets quite chilly at times. These socks are so comfortable yet thin. I have shoes that I like to wear socks under but some socks are too bulky. These are not, they are thin but durable (I've had mine for about a year and are still in pristine condition). They fit so comfortably under my loafers and other casual shoes that I wear through the cooler months.

These are just about the perfect socks for me. They're warm when I'm cold, but cool when I'm warm. They are *not* heavy winter socks, at least not alone, but they are perfect for the other three seasons. Best of all they seem to be fine when washed and dried on low. (Fun fact, though, I washed one pair in a vacation rental with a super hot quick cycle - and they felted! But I guess I do know they're actually wool, huh! 😆) Buy if you want uncushioned straightforward socks great for all but the coldest days.

Was hunting for Ruffini black merino wool socks -I don't think they exist anymore. I ordered these instead and WOW. They are fantastic merino wool socks. They are warm without being too thick. They are not too thin. They keep my feet warm! I am so thrilled with them. Already washed them in the washer and then line-dried them like I do with all my socks. Perfect again! I highly recommend them. They are great. Now I'm going to order another color.

I really like these socks. This is my first experience with wearing merino wool socks and I am very pleased. The fit is perfect for my size 8.5 feet. These are smooth-knit black dress socks. Not super thin but definitely not bulky. Just right inside sneakers, casual shoes or boots. The top of the socks are slightly tight on my slender-ish lower legs but not uncomfortable. I've found that I can wear them 3-4 times before washing. They just don't get smelly! I also use TheraTree Foot, Body and Shoe Powder with the socks. The combination is a winner for me! The socks wash well. I just turn inside out and machine wash in warm or cold water and hang to dry. There has been minimal raised fibers on the outside of the socks. I've had them now for about one month. This is natural and should subside just as a wool rug sheds for a while when new. YES, I will purchase more of these merino socks in the future. I like that they are solid black, smooth knit, soft on my feet and keep my feet from sweating.

I love these socks! I have tried many other Marino wool socks and was greatly disappointed. These are exactly what I wanted. They are thin so still fit in all of my shoes and boots but they are also incredibly warm. And the price is amazing.
