Best grips you will buy
I had been eyeing these bike grips for awhile but was not sure if I should spend so much. I finally pulled the trigger and I am glad I did. They are well worth the price for the comfort you will receive. I ride anywhere between 30-50 miles at a time and the grips I had were so uncomfortable. This are incredibly well made and easy to install. They secure well to your handle bar and provide an amazing amount of grip and comfort. I really did not know what I was missing until I used these. They also allow you to change your hand positions to provide better control of the bike. The best part that I had no idea until I purchased these is that now I find myself using better posture and now my back doesn't get as tight as it sometimes would during my long rides.

Great grip, no more numb hands
I installed these on my mountain bike last week and have put around 30 miles on it since then. Prior to these i had just the basic rubber grips and my hands were going numb about half way through this 10 mile ride. My goal was to get grips that turned my wrists more in line with my arms vs the slight angle of just the rubber grips and was thinking that would help with numbness. After getting them i was a little skeptical that they would accomplish this but they did. The are better than i expected, it's great to have a larger surface to hang on to and rest your palms on, and they straightened my wrists. Be sure and take an allen wrench with you on your first ride to adjust. I had to stop and move them slightly downward two times before they really felt perfect. Cruising they were great and under power pulling up the grade they felt great. I did have to adjust my shifters inward about 1/4" because my hands are moved in slightly. I didn't realize on my old grips that i was actually hanging my pinky off the end because they were uncomfortable. Install is easy, be sure to loosen the bolt and they slide right on, it's tightening the bolt that holds them in place so they are not like a traditional grip where you use rubbing alcohol or water to push the grip on the bar. These slide on easy and after I tightened the bolt they felt secure and no movement. I bought the large, I am about 6' tall with hands that are average size.

Reduces hand numbness and here is how you can remove and install them
I bought these for a 20 day tour I did on my touring bicycle. The rubberized palm rest area is sufficient to give you a substantial benefit to alleviate those numb hands you can get when riding for hours. They were very easy to install. Here is how you do it!: To remove the existing grips, get yourself something like the diameter of a wire coat hanger. Slip the rod you have under the grip and push it in until you get resistance. Then, spray or pour just a little bit of water, yes water into the area that you are making with the rod. Do that a few times around the grip pushing the rod a little bit each time. No need to use oil or anything that you would have to clean up afterwards. You will be able to twist off the old grip in one piece. Then, to put these on, simply wet ever so slightly the inside of the Ergon with water and slip them on the bar. Adjust the angle as to how you think you will like them and tighten the allen nut that you see on the end of the grip. ..... Now, go for a ride. Note how the grips feel. Are they at the correct angle? If you feel any pressure point, adjust them with the allen bolt. Now you have some super comfy grips and you have impressed your friends.

Very Comfortable and Effective. Make Sure Your Present Grips Are Adjusted Properly Before Replacing Them.
I had been feeling a bit of numbness in my hands when riding. Admittedly, I have not been riding that long, so I can't say for sure that my old grips were the cause. Anyway, when I got these, I was surprised to discover that they had almost the identical dimensions and shape of the grips that came on my bike (a 2016 Giant FastRoad CoMax 1). The padding pattern is somewhat different and a little softer on these, but not substantially so. I read the instructions and installed them accordingly. No problems. However, based on the instructions, I noticed that my original grips were adjusted (by the bike shop) with the palm pads turned much further down. As soon as I got on my bike I could feel the improvement. My palms felt supported. Given the angle the shop installed the originals, I'm not sure I ever made use of the palm pads. Or, if I did, it clearly required my wrists to be bent significantly. So, I went out for a 10 mile ride. I soon realized that my shifters needed to be adjusted to fall in line with the new angle of the grips. Once I did that, I did notice an improvement. A warning, though: At first, the numbness started to come back, maybe even a little worse. I paid attention and realized that, because the pad was now in a usable location, I was exerting considerable pressure on it with my palms. Once I realized that and began to use the pad as a rest, rather than to support me, the numbing went away. What surprised me is, despite the nearly identical dimensions and shapes of these and my original grips, the feel was very different. One last thing: The end caps are removable and not required to properly place or hold the grips. Since I have a mirror that mounts inside the end of the handle bar, that is a plus. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that I noticed after my ride, one of the tiny rubber nubs on the palm grip appeared to be slightly distorted. This could portend these will not last long. I will update this review after I have put some miles on the grips and adjust the stars accordingly. If you already have grips with palm support on your bike, make sure they are properly adjusted before changing them out. According to the Ergon instructions, while in your riding position, your palms should rest, but not bear down on, the palm pads with your wrists flat in line with your arms (i.e. not bent).

Nice grips, good palm support!
The grips that came with my bike had a palm support but did not clamp onto the handlebars so they would rotate. I saw these, made the purchased, and installed them on my bike. They appear to be great quality and the locking clamp works as expected. They haven't moved since I put them on my bike. I would buy them again.

It worked until it didn't
I installed these one month ago and loved the grips. A couple days ago, one of he grips began to slip. I have retightened it several times, used max torque, and even tried placing some tape under it, all to no avail. I wrote Ergon for a response. Their response: "Make sure the clamp end bolt is tightened to exactly 5 Nm with a torque wrench. Less than 5Nm and the grips will slip. More than 5Nm and you will compromise the clamp and the grips will also slip." I don't have a torque wrench, yet when I backed off the pressure, the grip actually improved. Lesson learner. Read the instructions. Last installment. So I tourqued the right grip to "exactly" 5nm. Still slipping. Ergon rep said I could return it and that they would decide from there. Instead, for $13 less, I bought the CyclingDeal grips which work great (and don't slip).

Great e-bike upgrade for long rides
These grips works as designed and advertised! - On longer rides my wrists and overall grip get sore and uncomfortable. After swapping out my bikes standard grips with the Ergon grips I noticed on my very first ride that these definitely reduce the amount of pressure on your ands as more importantly your wrists. No more sore wrists and sore hands on longer rides!

Really well constructed and comfortable.
Changed out OEM grips on Specialized Vado Turbo e-bike and so much better for overall gripping and comfort. Easy to adjust and secure with single screw and easy to install with in-stem mirror. Specialized would be well advised to do a joint venture with ERGON to include these grips on all their e-bikes.

Excellent replacement for stock Brompton handles
I bought these to replace the stock handles on my Brompton. The regular Brompton handles were causing numbness in my hands on longer rides. Since installing these, which too all of 5 minutes, using a very clear online tutorial, my hands and arms are kept in a more natural and comfortable position - no more numbness. They a really comfortable - I can'r believe that I waited almost a year of discomfort before changing to these. One important point for Brompton owners. If you have the curved handlebars found on the H & M models, the lower handlebar may strike the ground during a full fold. I have a rear rack so this is not a problem. Owners of a Brompton with the straight S type handlebars may not face the same problem, even without a rear rack.
