Calais Crossbody Bags for Women 10x7 Lightweight Water-Resistant Travel Purse, RFID & Interior Organization

I own a lot of Baggallini bags -- more than I'd like to admit -- and this is one of my favorites. The crossbody style is great for travel to keep my belongings secure, but I also like it for everyday use to free my hands. The organization with all the pockets is better than some since all the spaces are useful and logical. I can fit everything I want inside. The RFID-protected outer pocket with slots for cards, bills, and passport is welcome, although it does add weight to the bag; it closes with a zipper and then a metal twist clasp for extra security.In addition to the wallet outer pocket described above, the bag has an outer zippered pocket and a snap-closure slip pocket in the back. Inside, it has a zippered pocket, an elastic for a pen, and a wide-open space. The crossbody strap is adjustable to convert from various crossbody lengths to a shoulder bag. As with all Baggallinis, I love that the strap is wide and thick enough to keep thieves from easily slashing or breaking it; it connects to the bag with metal clips that are impossible to release if you are wearing it.I love that I can choose to stick my wallet inside or lighten my load even more by using the RFID-protected pocket as my wallet. As a frequent traveler, I usually choose a color base to my clothes -- black or blue -- and the navy is perfect for when I go with blue for my trip. It matches everything.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

I got it for Fall but like it so much I started using it the week after it arrived in August. There are plenty of zippered compartments. There are slots for cards and zip pocket for bills and coins. No need to add the weight of a wallet. The strap is wide and stays where I put it. I frequently adjust to hang it up. There is a snap pouch at the back that fits my phone with ease of access. It is a pretty heathered mulberry color that passes as an exciting neutral. I have two carry on bags, two wallet with a strap type bags and at least a half dozen purses. I have been using them for years. Only one is showing very slight wear, not even the case I sometimes check.

I love this purse. There are enough pockets to keep all my valuables safe. I carry enough cards that I also carry a small card case for the two or three cards I use frequently. .It keeps the others safe and away from view. My sunglasses don’t need a separate case. They have their own pocket. Overall one of my favorite and I am a purse collector.

This is my second Baggallini bag. The first one is still in perfectly usable condition but I wanted to try something a little bigger and more business-casual. My first one looked more utilitarian — almost like a camera bagPROS:Lots of separated compartments for organizing.I like that the front pocket is RFID and has both a two-way zipper and a latched flap to secure it. (I’m not the biggest fan of built-in wallets but I’m getting used to it.)It also seems as well-made as my first Baggallini which was the only purse I used for over 3 years. That one still isn’t frayed or torn but the finish on the metal zipper pulls and logo is wearing down to show some of the copper base metal. I can and will still use it. I think I should get as much use from the new bag.CONS:My biggest criticism is that all the zippers are nylon (which I like) EXCEPT the zipper on the front, just above the flap. That one has metal teeth. Aside from not matching the other zippers, which is irksome, I don’t personally like metal zippers because they scratch my knuckles when I reach in. I try to keep items I need to access less often in that pocket to avoid getting scratched.Another issue is that the main compartment is a bit deep and wider at the bottom than the top (like a pup-tent) so items migrate into a pile at the bottom and I have to rummage blindly. I may have to use a pouch in there but that’s another thing to carry. There was no rummaging in my previous Baggallini because everything I needed (and nothing more) fit exactly. At least I can fit extra items (when I need to) in the new bag.The fabric is “sparklier” than I like but not over the top. Not glittery but almost sharkskin.There’s a grommet on the left side of the back pocket — I assume for feeding a cord thru. I don’t use cords but hoped to use that hole for a split ring to hook my keys into… except I always carry my bag on my left shoulder which then puts the keyring behind me and makes it awkward to access when my arms are full. As it is, I hook my keys to the handle hardware. That makes it fussier to get into the back pocket so I often let them dangle (I’d rather not). Maybe a grommet on each side would be more versatile.BOTTOM LINE:I deducted one star for the mismatched zippers. I wanted to deduct 2 because it made no sense to have that but the rest of the purse deserves more than 3 stars. The zipper mismatch really should be corrected. I didn’t deduct any stars for the compartment depth, fabric, and unusable grommet because those are mostly subjective criticisms.

Absolutely delighted with this bag! First this is an Amazon resale and the description said it was used but in very good condition and it is. It actually looks brand new to me. And it cost quite a bit less. I love it. It looks elegant with the gold closing buckle and it is so well designed with lots of pockets. It will be very useful for traveling. The strap is just the right size, not too thin or too wide like some bags are nowadays. I will definitely make good use of this when going to France soon.Just received another Calais Baggallini bag, but in the color blue, which is lovely. Nice blue that can go with everything. It is also a resale and looks brand new. Very happy with this purchase.

I have (ahem) more than a few baggallini bags and totes I've collected over the years, and this is probably my favorite. First of all, I love the size and the organizational features. It's not too big, nor too petite. The brushed gold hardware is lovely, and I wish baggallini would consider using this finish on more of their bags (I think it would be great on the french navy color, for instance) – it just really elevates the look vs. the flat silver. I also have this big aversion to bold or obvious logos on bags; this one solves all that by having the logo etched into the cute circular clasp on the front of the bag. It's there, but not in your face. Love the look (and minimal weight) of the high quality nylon (I have some great leather bags, but don't usually travel with those).It's a perfect travel size, unless you need to stuff lots of extras in it (e.g., for winter travels, I'm often cramming gloves and beanie into my bag when we go into a museum; this could work for minimal extras, but not a lot). If you're not using it as your personal item, it will fold flat into your luggage, ready for use at your destination (also easy to tuck into your backpack).I just love all the organization here. The front RFID section holds cash, passport, boarding pass, cards (six slots, and you can easily double up), plus zip pockets and slip pockets for whatever else you carry. It would be pretty hard for a pickpocket to get into, but you can easily attach a zipper clip to the double zippers if that makes you feel safer. Back slip pocket with magnetic snap is perfect for your phone, and there's plenty of room in the main interior section for all your essentials. Love the key leash and lip balm/pen loop for easy access. The adjustable strap is maybe not as wide as you might expect for the size of the bag, but I think it's just right, and of course, super easy to replace with a wider strap if you wish; it all clips on and off. You've got another zip pocket in front (I store tissues, hand wipes, lip balm, etc.) and a clever, kind of hidden pocket above that for your phone (although I prefer it for my glasses). All in all, a great bag.

I like this bag a lot. I like the adjustable strap, the pockets and the zippers, the organization, all of it. It's my everyday basic, practical, nice-looking bag for work. BUT I was surprised that after about a year and a half of use it looks so faded. Both the navy blue is lighter, and, on the magnetic closure/clasp on the front of the bag (a major ornamental feature) the silver has worn off to reveal a brassy color underneath. So if you like that antique, worn look....go for it. But I expect a bag I paid good money for to still look good after one year and a half (and I don't actually use it every day year round - I have a few other bags I switch it out with!) So I'll still use it cause it is so practical and just the right size, but I have to say i'm a bit sad about the way it looks now.

Just as described. I like Baggallini because bags are light weight and have multiple pockets. Bag is nylon vs cotton, so it is very black (which is what I want) and it will stay black. I like the gray interior which allows you to more easily see inside the various sections. I love the line which secures a key fob.It is a small sized bag, but fits my needs. I eliminated my wallet and used the pockets provided. I thought the flap over the wallet area would be a hassle, but it isn't.I would like the zippers to have a slightly longer zipper pull (puller) so they are easier to grad onto.

Very light weight and lots of organizing pockets. My favorite purse and now have several colors of this bag.

I love the colour of this bag! I have 3 other Baggalini bags all in black. This colour is gorgeous for warmer weather and I have matching colour shoes and watch band. I have a couple of Uniqlo tops and bottoms that work perfectly with this coooru too.The functionality of Baggalini bags is beyond question, they are perfect and SAFE. Possible improvements? I would prefer the bag strap to be made of cut-proof thick strapping rather than this lighter weight strapping. We travel a lot in retirement and this gives me piece of mind in crowds. I hesitated purchasing for a while because I wasnt a love of the twist clasp on the front (maybe a bit old fashioned?). But I am so glad i bought this bag and I have used it constantly since it arrived. I have bags in different sizes up to backpacks. THis is my everyday bag when I dont need to carry water bottle or umbrella but I am happy to see I can fit small versions of both inside this bag if needed. 5*

This tiny bag has a lot of compartments for easy access and storage. I especially love the easy access phone pocket. You can fit quite a bit of things for it's size.

I love that it’s compact but still so organised it has a space for everything important. Totally hands free when you have to search for keys or cards. Large phone no problem instant access reading glasses and sunglasses in cases both fit this little bag does it all. For me it a perfect choice. I own the sterling Shimmer and now the shiny black leopard print. Very happy with my choices.
