Great for annoying fruit flies
This product comes with packets of granulated bait you can choose to use it as an option. I used it and it worked very well. I used this product next to a homemade trap consisting of a bowl of apple cider vinegar with a few drops of dish soap covered with cling wrap with holes for the flies to enter. The homemade trap does in fact work, however this trap collected many more flies thank the homemade trap. I would buy this product again.

An excellent low-tech solution!!!
This product really works!! We have a little bit of a fly issue because the next-door neighbors don’t pick up their dog poop. So we have one of these near our back door, and one of these at our front door; and they take care of the problem! Make sure you use the fly bait, which is in a small packet stuck to the inside of the top lid. They don’t spell that out in the directions. The flies love that fly bait, and once they stick on that gold tube, they’re stuck forever!

messy and did not work
this was a total waste and i wish it just ended there. i had 6 or 7 flies in my living room and kitchen. i closed all the windows and doors and set this trap out for 3 days. it did not catch a single fly. used the bait, etc. it left sticky residue on my fingers which was difficult to wash off. then my long hair cat somehow came in contact with the trap and it stuck to her hair. just an awful, awful mess. these are poorly designed, flimsy and messy. and didn't catch a single fly in 3 days of use.

They work ok at a low high.
We have had these for two days now, and the flies just fly around it. It’s like they are mocking us! Don’t waste your money on this item. After placing these at at a lower level, they did ok. The instructions didn’t mention that.

Don't work in the midwest
I just recently moved to a small town in Missouri and the house flies are absolutely ridiculous, just thousands of them everywhere. I'm not sure what the reason is, maybe because of all the farmland surrounding the town? Anyway, I regularly get a fly or two zipping around inside my house as well as the office where I work, being a total nuisance. The ones here in the midwest seem to be smarter than those in other areas, because they're completely uninterested in this trap. Maybe they can sense the superficiality in the scent or something, but they don't find it attractive in the least- they're much more interested in any food I might be eating. The adhesive seems good at least, only reason I know is because I managed to hit one with the trap once out of frustration, and it stuck pretty permanently. But what's the point in good adhesive if the flies never land on it? These traps didn't work for me at all, unfortunately.

Best fly catcher out there
Shhhhhh don't let word spread too much, these are already getting harder to find..but...these are hands down the best fly catchers around. I havd tried a handful of others but none of those really work, these are awesome. They catch flys, gnats, fruit flies, even the occassional moth!. You can keep it in the box and hang the box or set it on a shelf or window sill or you can pull it out of the box. I keep mine in the box and set it in a window sill and when the top gets full or dusty, i spin it a little so a new side is up. Used these during a bad year where lots of flies were getting in then couldn't find them for a year or 2 that's when I tried several others, so glad to have found them again. Our neighbor has horses, so we get fun biting flies inside....

The Answer to Our Prayers!
We still cannot figure out how or why our NYC apartment became infested with houseflies. Every day, we were waking up to more and more flies. At one point, we probably had 12 flies throughout our kitchen, entryway and bathroom. Like a science fiction film, every time we managed to kill one, it seemed as though three new flies showed up! (They were fully grown flies!) The Raid Flying Insect Repellent did NOTHING! Absolutely nothing! Regular fly paper attracted two flies—but both of those flies managed to pull themselves free. When the Catchmaster Gold Stick Fly Trap arrived, we set up the four of them throughout our apartment and, hand to God!, almost immediately, flies were being caught! Within an hour, four flies were stuck to two different Catchmaster traps! And overnight, we woke up to find three to five or six flies stuck on each trap! This product is a godsend! I just ordered another package! Thank you, Catchmaster!

No longer a draw for flies
These use to come with a granular packet that you sprinkled over the trap and now they don't come with the bait. Definitely not effective anymore. Why would they stop providing the granular bait? They use to be the best ones I used but not anymore.
