Electromagnetic radiation tool
Say, if you want to make this one a Paranormal Ghost Hunting gizmo then that's fine, but in fact it is electromagnetic radiation sensor with very good digital temperature sensor. Now, you can get that kind of tool for 3 hundred bucks mol from scientific equipment store, or buy this one and find where not to place your childrens bed in that new house because of an electrical conduit in the wall. Now, the EMF is very touchy subject, so do your Google and pick the side if you like. For those that are interested in construction this unit is well made, has all threaded brass embedded machine screws, is very efficient running on 9V battery, LED light is built in, and it is NOT cheap touch disposable feel thing. Solid circuitry based on IC enclosed in well made case. Good thing to have in the house, and fun to play with. You will be able to tell why you are not supposed to seat 12 inches away from your old CRT TV, how your microwave over seal doing and do not forget to take it to that "open house" show because there are not only overhead power lines, but also underground ones. Note for the skeptics: consider that DDT was for many years declared safe. Instant digital thermometer is real cool. Nice gadget.

Buy it!
Reads temperature and EMF. Works amazingly. Combo it with a sprit box, digital voice recorder, and a camera. Named after the daughter of the guy who invented this product. Mel, who was born in 87 and passed in 04, God rest her soul. So don't be detoured by the name. It is made for the paranormal. This the base model. There are more features if you would like to pay more.

Very reliable piece of equipment five stars!
Works great after you read the directions and realize you have to hold down the power button for a few seconds to get it to turn on. I changed batteries twice before I realized it, I was freaking out that I got a defective unit. It is very sensitive in a good way when it comes to the temperature readings. The electrical readings seem to be right on. Came with a case with a strap which was a happy surprise.

Fun for ghost hunting
As far as detecting temp and that sort of thing, it is awesome. I have used it to find air leaks in my sis' house. Ghost? not sure. I've taken it on paranormal investigations with my son (he's 14) and he loved it. It beeps in low temperatures, but most haunted places are cold, so be prepared for false readings. But I'm going to give it a high review because it did what it said and it enhanced the experience. We had a lot of fun and looked less like amateurs having one with us.

Ghost Hunting
Or what a cool toy to have when ghost hunting. I use this at a paranormal investigation. It was very accurate with the other devices being used at the same time. This is a very fun toy you should buy it!

Great tool for the price
I like the that it's easy to use. A bargain for a great tool. Im getting readings but confused as I will put it down on bed and get 1.2mg but when I press it against my body or as soon as I touch it the MG goes to 5.7 to 13.4. Is this normal?

one of my go to tools in the field
I love the Mel and its my go to tool for investigations. I hear that if you send it back to the fine gentleman that makes these fine tools you can pay to have them upgraded. So i am going to look into this. My only gripe is one my user error. If you are using the flashlight feature (a red led at the top of the unit) be aware of where you CCTV cameras are. My group was conducting a very active EVP session at Iron Island Museum in Buffalo NY and we had some movement and shado play that we could see with our own eyes. We went back to review video and I had left the flashlight on and it was pointing directly at the CCTV washing out all the video we may have captured. You live and you learn.
