Best Purchase!
I used this in my kindergarten classroom and it is perfect! I used the Velcro command strips to stick it to our door. The kids may not know how to read but they know green is go and red is stop. I get so many compliments from people about the sign.

Mail IS here
I got a bit disappointed when I realized that the sign says 'mail IS here'. In the product picture, the sign says 'mail IN here', which is what I needed. Either way, still good quality and it will work for what I need.

Strong Magnet, Slides Smoothly
Experience: 4 days of frequent use.I use this to track whether my cat is inside or outside. The magnet: The sliding glass door to the backyard has a mini-blind whose valance's face is 1-inch wide steel. Notice that this width is half the width of this product -- much of the products magnet is not in contact with that steel. The magnet has been plenty strong for my application: There is a good snap when it mates with the valance and a good tug when I pull it off. The sign has not moved with my frequent sliding of the "slider door indicator". Nor has it moved from the vibrations of the sliding glass door or the blinds.Caution: My mini-blinds are 40-years old and the valence may have more steel than recent ones.Slider door indicator: It slides smoothly and has the right amount of friction for me:Little enough to be very easily moved and enough to keep it from moving in response to vibrations. My *guess* is that the slider wouldn't move in response to a swinging door being opened and shut. Why did I choose these particular labels (Occupied/Vacant)? They were the least unintuitive for this category of sign. For me, the labels didn't matter, it was the colors: Years of work experience watching for red status LED on electronic equipment trained me to reflexively notice small red indicators, so something this big is unmissable.NOTE: You can't replace the labels on this product: They are behind (protective) glass and the clearance between the glass and the slider is about the thickness of an index card -- not enough to add a sticker and still have adequate clearances, especially after its adhesive ages. Note: I can push the thickness of 3 index cards into this gap, but that wedges the slide -- That is, it isn't an *operating* clearance. For guests, I added a "clarifying" label to the surface of the slide: "Cat Outdoors? // Red = Yes"
