These ignorant Reviewers, man oh man. What happened to 'It's not the size that counts, it's what you do with it.'
Okay, all of you that's giving it below average stars just because it's a 'demo' that KOJIMA CLEARLY STATES IN HIS INTERVIEW AND EVERYONE ELSE KNOWS IT'S A FRICKING DEMO TO 'THE PHANTOM PAIN', just... just quit gaming altogether if you can't pay attention to spoilers before the game actually comes out itself. Everyone is aware Ground Zeroes was going to be a short game, especially since it's titled to be the pro-lounge to it's main source 'The Phantom Pain', but you know what? Like with previous Metal Gear installments, you, yes, YOU, as the players of the video game Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, have the advantage to drag out that limited time of rumored 'two hours' or 'forty minutes' into twenty hours to your heart's content. It has high replay value for a reason, use it. Run around, explore, abuse the codec, try different techniques, test your stealth, test your strength. You want to sneak in? You can! Want to be noticed by all the guards? You can! JUST BE PREPARED WITH A WEAPON AND BOOK IT IF TOO MANY ARE AFTER YOU! And I am pretty damn sure there are plenty of memorable easter eggs in there and fun fanservice for MEN and WOMEN alike. Yes, people, this ain't a kid's game although clearly some kids will play it. Some understanding. Others. Not so much. Same with adults. Watch out for that eye candy! Now onto the game itself. It's Pros for the Play Station 3 especially : + Fantastic graphics. So gorgeous, even if it isn't as 'wonderful' as compared to the PS4, I honestly still think it's so pleasing and realistic to the eyes. + Our hero Snake has many more abilities than ever before! And options. Hell, you can even mark things on your map! + Up to par voice acting. Yes, even Kiefer Sutherland's good, though we will always remember Hayter as our number one. + All minor characters have personalities (just like in former MGS installments) + Legit stealth techniques. + Realistic and respectable sized cutscenes. + Open world exploration. + New interesting characters, especially attractive ones. + Excellent for its price. Everyone should be grateful it's not like other games and being bumped up to about $80. Obviously the marketing and creators were considerate enough to lower the price. Don't complain. + High replay value. + RESCUE PARTY! + Kaz is in here, come on, he makes the game a million times cooler. Hur-dur. + You can drive jeeps and fly helicopters! + Orgasmic sound track. + Fun surprises for gamers. + Normal and Hard mode selection. + Cool new health meter (which is basically burning marks all over the screen. PUT ON YOUR 3-D glasses!) + Real time, as in if it's night time IRL, it's night time in the game! Day IRL? DAY IN THE GAME! WOOO! + This game is important to buy because it literally links to Phantom Pain, so keep it. It's worth it. Cons: - Where's the alert screen at, is my thing jammed -- oh wait. Never mind. No cons. Hahah. Overall, this is a great time killer and you can put yourself to the test like never before. Everyone needs to chill and enjoy the game as it is. And this goes for all consoles. If you're a hardcore MGS fan, you'll definitely enjoy this. If you're new to MGS, you'll enjoy the unrestricted freedom, but I highly suggest you play the older MGS (and yes, Metal Gear Rising deserves some loving too), so you can get a good idea before purchasing this reasonably priced video game.

Die Hard Fans will love it!!!
First off I know everyone is complaining about the length of this game and I agree it wasn't as long as we would have wanted it to be, but this game isn't for random gamers who want to play a shooter. Though the story line is short ( coming in about 2 hours ) it has great gameplay and a great story line that makes it worth it. The side missions are really where the bread and butter of the game are, combining both stealth and run and gun that adds an extra 6-10 hours of gameplay which makes the 30$ price worth it. All in all I say if you are a die hard fan of the Metal Gear franchise then you should defiently pick this game up you will enjoy it! If you are just getting into the franchise I suggest you start by playing Metal Gear Solid 1 ( Playsation 1 ), Metal Gear Solid 2 ( Playstion 2 ), Metal Gear Solid 3 ( Playstation 3 ) before you try this one. If you are the type of gamer who only plays Call of Duty and Halo and that's it, don't bother even looking at this game. Great game, great gameplay, worth the price!!!

Too short and only one map.
I love MGS but only played 3 of them. For this game, YOU ONLY HAVE DIFFERENT MISSIONS IN ONE MAP BUT ONLY DIFFERENT TIMES DURING A DAY!!!!!! If you are a hardcore fan, sure, go get it. But if you are looking for a game that can last you for a while, NO! But the game is still a good game tho, can't knock on the wall is breaking my heart.

Short, but a nice taste of the new Fox Engine
When faced with the decision of Metal Gear Solid versus Splinter Cell, I'm the kind of person who splits the difference and plays both. The gameplay dynamics of Splinter Cell are so realistic that it is often frustrating to get through a mission, yet so satisfying once finished. The plot and characters of MGS games are so well developed and politically-charged that any gameplay issues can be easily ignored. As the two series grew, it was easy to tell that MGS was adopting Splinter Cell's style of gameplay, through the greater degree of interactivity in the maps of MGS3 and MGS4 (particularly in MGS4's tailing mission prior to meeting Big Mama and the initial part of the Shadow Moses mission), and the greater freedoms of movement and interaction in MGS: Peace Walker. MGS V: Ground Zeroes is a near-perfect merging of the two game styles. The player must be aware of illumination levels, noise, and distance to target, as well as the placement of incapacitated guards; the Fox Engine allows the player to move vertically in a number of ways (not just climbing up ladders or waiting through a clip of climbing a ledge ร la MGS3, but rather climbing up a wide variety of objects, jumping to grab a ledge, jumping across gaps, climbing into vehicles including helicopters, etc.); and Reflex mode provides a way for beginners to gain an appreciation for the difficulty of stealth movement. Just for these improvements, I am giving it 5 stars. Simultaneously, the improvements make the game feel disappointingly short. Speedruns of the main mission have gotten down to 5.5 minutes for S rank (it takes a while longer to get the XOF patches, cassette tapes, etc.), and the side missions are also quite short. If you take the true stealth (slow-and-steady) approach to these side missions, they take about 20 minutes each. In total, you get a few hours worth of play in this marvelous new engine, which tends to be disappointing. For the price and the preview of what's to come in MGS V: The Phantom Pain, MGS V: Ground Zeroes was well worth it!

AWSOME GAME TRULY
Some people might say that this game is to short but for a prologue game for phantom pain i think its worth to have very great gameplay short game but still alot to do, ive been following the mgs franchise for many years and i have to say its the best mgs game ive ever played, now i love all the metal gears especially 3 and 4 but in terms of game play this is hands down the funnest experience great controls amazing graphics and intense action, one of my favorite things about it is your ability to sprint, now if your caught you dont have to just run but can sprint the hell out of there. In conclusion mgs 5 is awsome and makes me tingle with excitment for phantom pain

WTF Kojima!
I got ripped off buying this for $30 when it came out. It's a $15 game at best because it's just a glorified demo for Phantom Pain. Beat it in about 2 hours. I would have given it a couple more rating points, but Sutherland just ruined this game for me. If I buy MGS5-TPP I'll be buying it used because I don't want Konami getting any money after this appalling casting choice. As always though, MGS has good gameplay and story. I suggest buying the game used so Konami doesn't receive any money and discourage them from casting Sutherland in future MGS games

Long Time MGS Fan
and if you're into the lore that is MGS and all it's crazy and melodramatic storylines.. you'll most likely enjoy this. I for one am happy I spent the $30 on this. Is it short? Yes. I completed the main mission in I'd say around 3-4 hours.. probably less. Then the side ops opened up and those are pretty difficult but fun! This game plays a lot differently than MGS2or3.. and differently than 4... The basics are still there, just in a different way. Like, bringing up weapons is no longer holding R2.. but using the D-pad. It takes a bit of getting used to but it's a nice change of pace. It's a lot less cluttered that way and the game feels like you're really out there, on your own.. It's more about sneaking and silent than previous games where ammo and suppressors are plentiful like apples on a tree. I'm on my 4th playthrough and I still haven't gotten all the items and unlockables yet. The replay value is there! Will this keep you busy for months?... most likely not. If I had to recommend this, I'd say only get it if you're really excited for The Phantom Pain and you're interested in the storylines of MGS. If you get it just for gameplay or want an action packed game or think this is a FULL game with a $30 price tag... keep looking and wait for it to drop in $ or I'm sure there will be a bundle when Phantom Pain is released.

It's a good game and even though it's a short play through ...
It's a good game and even though it's a short play through for being a prequel to the Phantom Pain, it's still good to enjoy as practice for stealth missions. Plus, it's helpful to have this title for the story purpose and the graphics are just what I would expect for a Metal Gear game of it's caliber and from the franchise since it's original inception for the older PSone game console.
