Spice and Wolf, Vol. 15: The Coin of the Sun I - light novel

To tell the truth I haven't started reading it yet but the fact that it came in perfect condition and I just know that the light novel series is one of the best so yea just gonna give it 5 start because I'm doing it for Holo

This book starts the two-part climax of the Spice and Wolf series, and I couldn't have asked for anything better. Lawrence and Holo enter a town near Yoitsu to investigate a mercenary band that shares its name with one of Holo's pack mates, but soon discover deeper truths hidden in the town's economy, allowing for an unprecedented opportunity for the pair. The book is well paced (although the Myuri mystery was resolved a little too quickly for my tastes), granting lots and lots of juicy moments between Lawrence and Holo with no distractions (now that Col is gone). Perhaps the best thing about this book is that toward the end, with the way it was going, it could have served as the final book in the series with just fifty more pages or so. However, Hasekura threw in something enormous to lead into book 16 - which, judging by the quality of the end of this book, will be an even more amazing and fitting end for Spice and Wolf. My one complaint is that I have to wait four months before I get to see what happens next.

This was quite an enjoyable read. A lot of suspense, and tying up of a few loose threads. Fear not! The travels and adventures of the spice merchant and the wolf continue!

As Lawrence and Holo travel closer to Yoitsu, they arrive in Lesko and find a town that contains an unexpected liveliness. Here, finally they speak somewhat more openly about the future and draw up plans. However as this is a two part story, one has to expect that those plans are derailed throwing their future into uncertainty. This is really a beautifully written narrative; it's hard to say enough about how the small interactions between Lawrence and Holo continue to build as they both work out their remaining hangups.

Tho book starts off quite slow and doesn't make too much progress. The vast majority of the book seems to be spent in contemplation. It's hard to go into much detail without going into spoilers as well. But knowing the slow beginning, it ends so well as to completely make up for the slow start. The end moves fast enough to make your head spin in a good way. The ending ties together almost everything learned over the course of the previous 14 books. Nothing is really left out. This is what makes for truly a amazing series. You realize just how important some of the more minor details really were. I am truly impressed. This would be five star worthy of the beginning wasn't so slow. However, it might not have worked if it were faster paced, too. So although it doesn't make for the most entertaining story, it does make for a better one because the flow of time feels right.

The story begins to close. The crew finally almost reaches their goal and things begin to settle in the relationship between Holo and Lawrence. There is some closure on the fate of Holo's friends and you learn more about what is going on in the region. The book ends on a cliffhanger for Vol16 which should be the end of the main story for Holo and Lawrence.

Come da qualche romanzo a questa parte, la storia tra i vari libri è sempre più collegata. Siamo arrivati alla resa dei conti con una serie di continue sorprese e colpi di scena. Il rapporto tra i 2 protagonisti è sempre più bello vivere. Non vedo l'ora che esca il prossimo volume.

Neste volume conta a primeira parte da história, sendo sua conclusão no volume 16. A história aproxima-me do final no qual Holo e Lawrence vão para Lesko depois de descobrirem o caminho para Yoitsu, entretanto descobrem muitos mistérios e ocorrem reviravoltas. O autor está de parabéns com o desenvolvimento do clímax e dos personagens, embora alguns poderiam ter sido melhores desenvolvidos, a história continua ótima.

It's a Spice and Wolf book. What's not to love!

Cosa posso dire? Da fan della serie, è un must have! Peccato che in Italia non arriverà mai in italiano. L'edizione inglese della YenPress è perfetta.
