how long it lasts
I like that the detection of the hand was on point. its easy to use, but I have only had it for two months and it is no longer working. I have put in new batteries, cleaned all of the areas where soap my be stuck idk if thats possible but I tried fixing it. The smiling face comes on but no soap is dispensed when I place my hand to get soap. I gave it three stars because I think its a great product and it works well but the life length of it is not good. or maybe I just got the bad one. Who knows but all in all its ok. I will not recommend it but I wont tell someone not to buy it either. Its all in your choice to try it out maybe someone else will have better luck than me. Update: the seller reached out to me and they sent me another one free of charge which I thought was really nice. Shows they actually do care about their customers.

Exceeded my expectations. Plan to buy more!
We have been using a Dial automatic soap dispenser for years. We loved that it was a touchless dispenser that ejected a set amount as this was helpful for our disabled son. But over the years there were issues with dripping, and unintentional triggering, and battery usage. Eventually it became impossible to find the refill cartridges, then the unit became all yellowed and discolored and stopped working. That is when I researched and found this refillable automatic soap dispenser that I could use my own choice of liquid soap in. I really appreciate that, and that is reduces waste. The best feature though is that it produces foam!! The foam is so much easier to spread around on the hands and prevents big blobs of liquid soap from dirtying the sink and counter. I also appreciate that we could choose from 2 options for the amount of foam being dispensed and prefer the larger setting (which conserves over having to use 2 smaller amounts) and is plenty for adults to do a thorough job. I have not had trouble with unintended triggering of the unit when I am wiping out the sink or cleaning either, which was a significant problem with our old dispenser. The only improvement I would desire is a way to "lock" in the soap receptacle. When picking up the unit to clean under it the other day I did not think to grab the soap reservoir versus the upper unit and the reservoir fell out. Thankfully it didn't spill or anything, but it was startling and I wish it would snap or latch in. Overall though I like it so much better than our old system that I am planning to buy another one for the kitchen and maybe one for the master bathroom. I am in love with washing with the handsfree foaming soap!

Works well and easy to refill
It works really well, so far. I cannot state how long it will last, but so far so good. Because of the pandemic, we use it whenever we come back inside, as I have it filled with sanitizing foaming soap. It foams up nice and the nozzle has yet to clog up, as I read about in reviews of other foaming dispensers. I do like that the batteries are installed in the back, rather than the bottom, which lets me feel comfortable that no water is getting into the battery compartment. The dispenser's soap bottle is located on the bottom, with the dispenser just 'resting' on it. This makes it easy to refill, which I've done twice now. However, it also means I've 'accidentally' disassembled it by knocking it into the sink a few times, with a little bump. But, I accept responsibility for that. I am a bit clumsy. As for sensitivity, I haven't messed with it all. It has sprayed foam into the sink a couple times, as I've reached for a sponge nearby. However, only when I've reached within 6-8 inches of it. So far, no spraying of foam into the sink, just from standing at the sink or walking by, another complaint I read about in reviews of other dispensers. All in all, I do like this foaming hand soap dispenser and would recommend it to others. As a matter of fact, I plan on ordering one for each bathroom and one for foaming grease cutting hand soap for the garage, once I get the utility sink and water up and running out there. So yes, I will be buying more. Happy shopping!! Update (10/17/2020): I have come to like this dispenser quite a bit. Yes, occasionally it 'spits' out some foam at me, as I reach for something near it, on the back of the sink. C'est la vie. My partner uses it daily, when she gets home from work. I use it whenever I've left the house for shopping or other important errands. So far, I haven't had to replace the batteries, yet I've refilled the soap 4 times. One improvement they could make: Something that holds the dispenser to the soap tank itself. Grab the dispenser and the soap container falls right into the sink. In the words of one of my favorites, "I can't complain, but sometimes I still do...Just an ordinary average guy." :-)

Couldn't be happier with this LAOPAO soap dispenser for the bathroom!
UPDATE: Bought 3 dispensers and one went bad after 7 months. Motor would run but soap stopped dispensing. Contacted Laopao who sent out a new unit under warranty without issue. First rate customer service and would not hesitate to purchase from them again. Purchased this LAOPAO soap dispenser for foaming soap in the bathroom. So far everything works very well with it. Sensor works well detecting hand motion under the soap spout. Had to move it back a little further from the sink than we were used to to avoid accidental activation and one finding the right distance for our setup, haven't had an accidental "discharge". Only minor complaint is the soap reservoir is not easy to "click" into place. The only way to explain how to get it "clicked in" is to think about installing like it's on a hinge, instead of sliding or pushing it on. It's more like a pivot motion with the top outside edge making contact with the inside of the dispenser first, then pivoting the rest of the reservoir flush into the top of the reservoir cut out. Then once the top of the reservoir is inside and flush with the cutout, add slight pressure to the the bottom of the reservoir and it will easily click in. If this continues to work past the return period, I'll buy more for the other bathrooms in the house.

Love the idea but not built to last
I have bought this item twice in the last two years. I saw it at a friends house and fell in love with it. The happy face was a crowd pleaser and motivator for little kids. However both of my units have stopped working. The second one stopped working after only a few months of use. The first one lasted about a year. The electronics seem to still work, I can still hear the suction and see bubbles in the reservoir but when it tries to pump, nothing comes out. I tried cleaning by rinsing and with pipe cleaners but the design does not allow for full access to the line. It’s hard to rationalize spending over $50 on two soap dispensers. Then it’s just annoying not having a soap dispenser. Perhaps they get clogged but I believe this is a design flaw with the tubes just being too narrow!?!?

Hands free soap
With Covid I have become almost germophobic-not as bad as some folks but still very cautious. I wanted a hands free dispenser in white for the kitchen counter. I found LAOPAO dispenser and purchased it thinking it was a regular soap dispenser, it is not-it is a FOAM dispenser. I almost returned it but I went on line on how to turn regular hand soap into foam. I tried it and it works perfectly. I love the white since my counters are mostly white and who can resist the smiley face each time you use it? Having said the above, unfortunately the product stopped working. I cleaned it changed batteries (even though they were new) and still would not work. I heard a noise like it was trying to dispense but nothing would come out. Later on when I went to give it one more try all the liquid soap spilled out of the unit. I opened it the battery section was clean, it seemed as though it was spilling out from the sides but could not really see where it was coming from. Very disappointed and of course it is not returnable. It seemed like a great product the first month. Will have to look for another similar product. I guess its all a matter of luck because most of the reviews are good.

Friggin AMAZING
Could a grown woman fall in LOVE so fast?......YUP.....this is fantastic......I'm a designer......you know...one of those particular ones....I pretty much drive the guys who do work on my home...C R A Z Y......I'm just picky.....all that to say......this is PERFECT.....alot of these auto hand soap dispensers are as big as a truck sitting on your counter......I wanted to find the smallest and less intrusive WORKING unit that I could find.....this is it...!!! I cant believe how CONVENIENT it is......put your hands underwater...then place your hands near this unit....and PRESTO....you have foaming perfection every time....I actually do it twice.....three times if I want a good scrub. The reviews that complain dont know how to READ DIRECTIONS.....it is imperative that you Add a FOAMING SOAP....that is already the consistency needed.....adding regular soap....then adjusting the water concentration is too much of a guessing game....if you want this little gem of a machine to be a workhorse....just BUY and ADD the foaming soap already measured in ANY market in the world...I added Bath and Body Works foaming soap.....it is Divine. THIS IS THE MACHINE every home needs next to their kitchen sink.....its the PERFECT SIZE......even has a simple smiling face to show you it is ready to disperse. Remember..,,I am MISS PICKY.......and I love love love and love this thing. BUY IT AMERICA......and add FOAMING SOAP TO YOUR ORDER..!!!!!!!!!!! Oh......one more thing.....if you have kids....which I think they had..... CHILDREN IN MIND ........when designing this little rock star of a machine.....this would be.... THE BEST AND BRIGHTEST..... and EASIEST .....AND PERFECT thing......to have on the counter for your little ones......the small....almost inconspicuous....flashing SMILEY face would...I think...entice the kids to actually WANT TO WASH...!!! Come on....AMERICA.....get with the program....this thing IS THE BOMB.

Somewhat disappointed.
Purchased 2 soap dispensers in Sept. 2021. One for use right away and one for a gift. Should I have realized it wouldn't last 2 years... maybe! We loved the convenience of the soap dispenser, but did not like the awkward way to refill the soap container. Was a bit difficult to make sure it "clicked" in place, and often soap was squeezed out as it was being put back together. But still, minor inconvenience was tolerated. We gave the 2nd one as a gift but the recipient did not use it so returned it to us. We kept it as a back up. Good thing we did - or was it? Our original dispenser started acting up about 3 months ago. No longer provided foamy soap, and it would just dribble out. Played with it from time to time to see if we could fix it. No luck. So we started to use the back up. Well, unfortunately, it never worked right from the start. At this point they are garbage as they barely even dribble soap out. We did like the smiley face that was super useful for the grandkids to know how long to wash. Since it was way past the return date, we threw them away. Purchased a different brand a week ago and will see how this one works. Right away I notice it's so much easier to refill! Also, batteries not needed as it is rechargeable. Will check back in a few months!

Best Soap Dispenser on the Market
I recently did a thorough search for a soap dispenser. Reading the stats and reviews on dozens of models and even purchasing several different models. This model came out on top for a number of reasons. First up I will cover some points from the Amazon description as seen in 2020: • Hi and low foam modes. This was something that I was looking for. Some models put a mountain of foam into my hands and I like the idea of selecting different amounts of foam. • No risk of damage due to liquid seeping into the unit and or battery compartment. This was one of my screening methods. I was only looking at models where it was impossible for liquid to get into the battery compartment and or the circuitry inside. This one does a nice job. There are other models that I saw were the batteries are directly above the liquid with no moisture protection. I could see those models getting moisture inside through humidity. The Loapao model is well protected. • This model comes with a 12-month warrantee. I do not know how reliable they are as I have had no problems with the 4 units that I purchased. • “25 deg bevel design keeps the outlet clean” Yes it sure does. This is one of the things I like most about this design. I have other designs that frequently make a mess of themselves. I have to turn them off and clean them after use. This can get very frustrating. This model is designed nicely to put the soap only into my hand and not make a mess in the process. • They make a big deal that you can use any liquid soap by diluting with water. Pretty much all units on the market can do that, so not such a big deal. Pro’s: • I love the placement of the battery compartment. I have access to the batteries without taking the unit apart. Also, there is no chance of water getting inside. • While all the models that I trialed have similar noise output, this one is reasonable quiet. NONE are without some sound. That is to be expected. • Some of the units I trialed I had to put my hand under about 2-3 times to get enough soap. Almost as if it needs to be primed after inactivity over a few hours. This unit gives me the proper amount of soap every time regardless if it has been sitting idle for a day or more. • I really love the NO MESS. All units say they are no mess due to them being touchless, however, as I mentioned above, I have found that the angle is crucial. Other models do make a mess. When you try to wipe the nozzle, it activates again. This model is just designed better with a better angle making it truly mess free. Con’s: I don’t really have anything negative to say about the soap dispenser. My only Con is about its availability through Amazon and the higher price elsewhere: • I had a very hard time finding it in stock with Amazon. Through Amazon, I could buy this unit for $39.99 CAD. However, if it was not in stock, I had to buy from a 3rd party and the price went up considerably to the high 80’s. I waited patiently for it to be in stock with Amazon for the lower price and got it that way. It just took a lot longer. In the end, I liked it so much that I purchased 4 of them. Putting one in each bathroom and one in the kitchen.

Dead after 11 month: Update
Works great for a short time. I bought a second one because my kids loved the first one and it worked so well. Unfortunately, it didn’t last the year and there isn’t a manufacturers warranty. It’s a handy product but it won’t last. UPDATE: The company reached out and tried to help me problem solve the issue with the soap dispenser. When we couldn’t troubleshoot it (the motor wouldn’t turn over), they sent me a replacement. It arrived within a week and works great. I am so happy with this product and with the customer service I received. If you have little ones at home, this is a great product to get them in the habit of washing. Also, all the guests we have had mention the cute happy face. Since it is a foam soap dispenser, I have saved so much on soap, even with little ones taking too much. The battery life is great; we change the batteries maybe twice a year. Really great product, but even better customer service. You’ll definitely want more than 1!

Exactly what we wanted
Bought this so our toddler could be more self sufficient when washing hands - and two weeks in, it's perfect. Easy to put together, easy to use, and so good to not be wasting heaps of soap! Very glad to have done the research and bought this one.
