I have dithered for many years about finally buying a good sized atlas and I'm glad that I finally pulled the trigger. We are enjoying it immensely and I'm sure we will for some time to come. Electronic maps are great, but it is really nice to have these large-scale maps at my fingertips. Review: Great purchase - I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and size of this atlas, given the price. I love a nice book, but bought this to replace an old and outdated student atlas I purchased for my kids over an decade ago. I almost didnโt want my kids to handle it, but they also enjoyed looking through it. Great purchase.

Well made and very detailed.
I was looking for a new world atlas to replace an old one that was falling apart. I'm kind of a map nerd and like the quality and detail in this new one. It's a great reference tool for providing overviews when we're planning trips or cruises.

my favorite atlas. for me it is the best atlas
For me, a normal person who reads the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times print edition every day, the National Geographic Family Reference Atlas of the World, fifth edition, is absolutely perfect for my needs. It is meticulously and thoughtfully designed to make it very easy to find countries and to present in an easy to read format essential facts about each country printed on the same page as the map of the country. I would give this 100 stars if I could. The maps are very easy to read, unlike the very difficult to read maps in the Oxford Essential World Atlas, eighth edition.

Update your world geography and more!
My husband is an avid reader and always looks up maps of places in the storyline. The problem was that he was using a huge atlas from the 1960โs. Our 5 year old grandson got a USA Atlas for Christmas and they enjoyed looking at it together! It occurred to him that โmaybeโ he should upgrade his atlas, too! So, I showed him the newest features and options and he finally settled on this one and I had time to order it in time for Christmas! He loves all the features and we are learning so much !

Very comprehensive, great for general knowledge and family conversation!
In addition to the large maps, it also contains much information about the world, different, regions, culture, global issues. Highly recommend it for families to trigger conversations and interest amongst children. It's one of those few books that you can keep in the home for decades and still stays relevant!
