So sorry to Oontz, they deserved a good review years ago. I bought two of these in 2022 and have used them countless times since. They pair easily and work with separate volumes (if you wish) to suit different environments. I have used them out in the open around campfires and in rooms in the house where we didn't have hifi set up. Most recently I have them on my balcony where the acoustics seem to suit them really well. The batteries last for ages and most importantly the sound... oh my! Bass response is of course limited due to the size of the diaphragm of the speakers but it is admiral considering the same restriction. The clarity is superb throughout the mid and high range and the speakers have a miraculous ability to project the sound as if they were much bigger units. Two paired together creates a wonderful stereo environment wherever you are with no lag or discordant effect. For the money you will be impressed, there is no doubt about that. After as many years of faultless service as I have had you will be, as I am, in awe. They just seem to sound better every time I get them out and to be clear, I set them on full volume and can only turn the phone output to half before they are too loud to talk over. They are very powerful, though sound clarity is reduced at max volume as with ALL systems. Each time though, switching the speaker off and back on has resolved the issue. I didn't really get this for portability, but it's an obvious advantage to be able to port whatever I'm listening to around the house uninterrupted. I haven't really tested the range, but again, I'll update this if I encounter any issues. Having owned all three, I can't dispute those figures. I'm unhappy with Cambridge's sudden decision (after a mere 2-3 months) to replace the Angle 2 with the Angle 3. They're sufficiently unlike one another to be concurrently carried rather than obsolesced. The 2 is the larger speaker (actually bigger than the UE Mini Boom) with the extra size accounting for the extra long life of the battery. The 3 is slightly lighter and more compact, bringing it closer--in size and battery life--to the company's exceedingly popular OontZ Curve. The 3 also has a tighter seal for greater resistance to water. But all 3 speakers sound like slightly above-average $30 speakers to the trained ear. If you listen to instrumental music (jazz, classical) and not simply "pop vocals", I'd strongly recommend investing in the higher-quality Oontz Angle speaker (at 3-4 times the cost) unless you can afford the rightly acclaimed Bose Mini Bluetooth (6-7 X the cost). In the $25-30 price range, I prefer the Oontz Curve for its visible, user-friendly controls. Neither the Angle 2 or 3 sounds any better in processing bass frequencies in a richly textured environment (horns, piano, drums and bass--which goes largely unheard in any of these 3 speakers). P.S. I notice that sellers are trying to get $10 for the now discontinued Angle 2 speakers. At that price I can live with 1/3rd the battery life (water-proofing is a non-factor, since I take my rubber ducky with me during bath times). **Q: does it have a skip forward/ skip backward option?** A: It does, but it is difficult to use or see. Instead, I use a Fintie Bluetooth Wireless Multimedia Remote control which I have on a lanyard so that I can change the volume or skip forward or go backward anywhere I am in the house. **Q: Can the speaker be used while connected to a power/recharging source?** A: HI, Yes, the OontZ Angle 3 speaker can play while it is being charged. You can keep it plugged into a charging source and play, the speaker will not over charge. **Q: What's the difference between the angle plus and the angle 3? why are the reviews on this angle3 page all for the plus?** A: In the past, I have found that reviews on Amazon are often bunched together for different, tho similar, models of the same product ... particularly electronics. The manufacturer's web site doesn't even list a Angle 3, so I would guess its a brand new model ... maybe there aren't enough (or any) reviews to show them separate from reviews of the Plus. As for the differences ... good question. Based on info from the description on Amazon, the only difference is what DAVLIN described in his answer to your question, though Amazon states a battery run time of 7 hours, not 10, presumably because of the greater power draw (to allow for greater volume). I charged it and turned it on, not realising my laptop volume was right up. It near blew me off my chair and there was no distortion. I'd totally recommend it for taking camping, the garden, or even as a car speaker if you don't have a bluetooth stereo fitted, but for what I wanted it for (to fill a workshop with sound) there just is no bass or depth - if you want that then you need something bigger with a subwoofer. The sound and bass quality differs depending on your surroundings. On my desk playing ambient chill music it's a nice rich sound, but in my car sitting on the passenger seat it's not as rich with not much bass.
