After reading some mixed reviews, I decided I would buy it and see for myself. It is really quite heavy and I think well built. The base clamp is made of metal, the clamping screw has a nice fine thread on it. The round "foot" attached to the screw thread did not turn nicely when clamping on and turned around with the thread. Some lubricant was all that was required. People had reviewed that the bendy Swan neck had stripped the thread out of the clamp base. The base is metal, but at a guess, made of something like aluminium. Here is where a potential problem is. I clamp mine onto an art easel, and depending on which side I have it, and how the swan neck is bent, the combined weight of my tablet and the swan neck hanging will unscrew the arm from the base. I hope that makes sense! So I guess if I used a bit more force to stop this happening, it would result in stripping the thread. I am not indicating that is what others do by the way, but I can see it happening to mine if I did! Yes, the piece which holds the tablet is plastic, but it grips it very well with some little rubber pads and strong springs within it. Overall, I am very pleased with mine.

Could do with being a little longer and it’s really difficult to bend and position the neck. Apart from that it’s decent quality and handy.

Rlly strong and lovely. Just have to be careful with the clamp and stretching it as with everything. Hold up tablet rlly well. The tablet claw is on a ball joint so the screen can be easily angled. Pics show my 11 inch tab a11+

This is my second phone holder. The first one I got (a different model), broke after a few weeks. This one is sturdy, easy to assemble and pretty stable. The only negative thing is that it is not as long as I'd expect it, but still works perfectly well, better than the previous one I had. Totally worth it. --- Update: After few weeks using it, I noticed it is showing the same issues as the other model I got. It is starting to lose sturdiness close to the clamp mount and it is harder to set the device at an specific position/height because the flexible arm will go down after a while. I wouldn't be surprised the arm will also break near to the clamp mount and it happened with the previous one I got.

Cheap plastic with different shades of white, neck not flexible at all!

Brilliant piece of kit. I use this stand to hold my ipad when reading in bed

Had a few years now, the clamp bit came apart but was easily fixed with some ductape, till going strong as a bedside tablet holder. Well designed nice long neck
