Works well
The product works as described for me. I have an older tv that I needed to connect to a new speaker. I was able to convert the TVs audio coaxial out to an optical/toslink input for my speaker. Sound quality seems great to me.

This does what it says it can do!
I needed a digital coax to optical converter to transmit audio from my Sony Blueray to MEE Bluetooth audio transmitter. It works perfectly!

Do not work
This thing does not convert anything I wasted more than 25 minutes trying to have a result in one way or another, I did not return it because I have to use one of the cables that came with the product.

Well-deisgned, hassle-free signal conversion
I really like the simplicity and versatility of this converter. It was exactly what I needed to connect a coax digital audio signal to my soundbar's optical input, but the converter works just as well in the other direction. PCM, Dolby, and DTS audio formats pass through the converter without issue, and the bundled cables make setup nearly effortless. The converter doesn't consume much energy, so just about any USB-A port (or phone charger) will power the unit using the included microUSB cable. The red power light is brighter than it needs to be, but that can be covered up with tape easily enough. The converter generates almost no heat, staying nice and cool at all times.Overall, this converter is a great way to hook up older (pre-HDMI) audio components that have differing digital connector types. It's a simple device but does its job well.

Created an audible hum making it unusable.
Connected it to my audio system (fairly high-end: > $12k), and immediately heard a low-level, but audible, hum from my speakers. Disconnected the device: no hum. Reconnected: hum. Removed device. Took a chance at $11, didn't work out and that's OK. If your system is less sensitive, you may have no problems.
