Without it open a lot of the side buttons just won't work and you won't be able to change the DPI with a button press if you need to be more accurate or faster on the fly. It is pretty awful software I'll admit though. It makes things a lot harder than they need to be. However once things are set up it's fine. It can just be on your tray, the window itself doesn't have to be open, it can just run in the background. **Q: Is this one the updated version that works with icue v4 ? i have the old scimitar that still works but only in icue v3*** A: Mine started with IQUE 3 but recently upgraded to IQUE 4 without issue .If that helps . **Q: Can you map scroll up/scroll down on the mouse wheel to other functions?** A: Simple answer is yes **Q: How does the wheel compare to the scimitar rgb pro's? as most know, the rgb pro wheel will end up breaking.** A: Various updates and adjustments have been made to improve the original PRO's successor. Hopefully this one last longer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 3.5 years later... *by R***N on 23 January 2026* Lasted 3.5 years before signs of a dying scroll wheel, which is surprisingly longer than the G600 I had previously - may it rest in peace. In terms of comfort it is comfortable for palm grip, but some buttons even when slid all the way back are unreasonable to reach for small-medium hands in competitive scenarios. Over its lifetime I used about 6/12 buttons consistently. The software wasn't great either, had plenty of occasions where it just wouldn't load the profile and required reconnection or computer restart. Not too often, but enough to be wary of. That said, for it's price I can't complain after years of daily, heavy usage.
