No tools are needed for assembly. There is a small button near the handle bars, as pictured, that allows you to easily dissemble the bike as well.It rolls smoothly and doesn’t appear to be unstable/tip easily. It’s made from a thick plastic that feels like it will hold up well as well as clean up easily.The bike is small, so I wouldn’t recommend it for older children but it’s great for children that are just learning how to walk and cruise. My son is 8 months and loves to hold it and push it as well as sit on it while we push him. I’m sure that by 12 months he’ll love riding and pushing himself around. For size reference I placed it next to a 16.9oz water bottle.It’s a quality bike for the price.
