Saphir Varnish Rife Patent Leather Cleaner - for Shoes, Boots, Bags & Clothes

I have to admit that, in general, I find Saphir products overrated. This brand has a certain snobbish cachet that I find a bit off-putting. Yes, the products are good, but there are other brands that I find equally good, if not better, and most of them are less expensive - Paul Brunngård comes to mind... But having said that, Saphir's Vernis Rife is probably the best patent leather cleaner and conditioner on the market. It's easy to use, a little goes a long way, and it does an excellent job of cleaning and hydrating patent leather, and leaving it looking like new. So even though I can't call myself a Saphir fan, this is one product that I will only buy from Saphir.

As always, SAPHIR comes through with the finest quality products. I had used the black version on a pair of men’s dress shoes and the results were spectacular. I now used this on my wife’s Louis Vuitton purse and the result was the same.

I love patent leather shoes with leather soles for east coast swing dancing. They take a beating! Saphir cleaner removed some black spots on my red flats. I used it on Kate Spade plaid flats. Lovely shine! Also used on some thrifted name brand shoes from Poshmark. They were pretty good to start but this took off some marks.

Bought this to restore second hand patent leather sandals that I purchased recently, and I am IMPRESSED!!! The Tory Burch logo on the shoe was the dullest part, and the first image shows you that. I wiped them down, but they were still dull, so I purchased this. The second image is right after application with a cotton ball, which makes it look more dull, but you have to trust the process! After leaving the cleaner to sit on the shoes for 3 minutes, I buffed them with a microfiber towel and WOW!!! The logo is shiny, and you can even see my reflection in the 3rd & 4th photo!! I am beyond impressed, and so glad that this product could restore these sandals! If anyone else is looking for a good cleaner for their tory sandals, or anything with patent actually, i would really recommend!

Found this on social media. Didn't work as well as I expected, worked a bit on slightly oxidized patent leather, but not on more heavily oxidized ones.

We all know how patent leather shines beautifully. Literally right out of the box but after a while it can get little smudges and fingerprints. And no matter how much you try, you cannot get them all off or at least make it look like it did when it was new. Well that's where this product comes in. If you don't have a lot of nicks and scratches on your patent leather, this will bring back that like-new beauty. I never thought that a product could make patent leather shine more than it did when the item was new but this does that. It's very easy to use. Just rub it in nicely, let it Haze 3 to 5 minutes and buff it out. A super brilliant shine is what you'll have!

So I did all my research to find this product. I have several purses and shoes that have stains. Tested it out on a spot no one could see. Nothing. Did it again on another stain. Nothing. Finally found some doc martens that needed help and while it did not remove the stain, it did make it lighter. Would I buy this again. No. The smell isn’t terrible, but it does stink.
