Works as promised
Easy to install. I purchased a small tube of thermal paste normally used in computers at a computer store to equalize the thermal sensing. Sensor doesn’t touch the ice so no concern about toxicity (if any - don’t think so) of the thermal paste.

Worked great
Was considering a new ice maker until I saw a video that the issue could be the thermostat. Bought this and in fifteen minutes was back in business making ice again! I wish they would include some of the silicone putty or a disc of it as I had to buy a tube (which was overkill) to do this job.

Aftermarket, but working great!
Whirlpool Gold icemaker would intermittently stop running. After tearing it all apart, it looked like ice had built up around the thermostat causing it to stay closed. I cleaned it all up and it worked for about a week, but the same thing happened again. I replaced the thermostat with this item and it's now making ice every 50 minutes without issue.

Alternative to 628532
Great alternative to part 628532. This one activates at 15 degrees F and the original (628532) activates at 12 degrees F. I refused to pay $70 for the direct replacement part on a 16 year old fridge and gave this one a try. Perfect fit and operation for a fraction of the cost!

Harvest Ice Fixed! Not making Ice.
I replaced the timer mechanism thinking that was the problem, that didnt' work. I replaced the photo sensors and that didn't work. Finally, I found this little device, which was the thermostat. The unit would cycle in manual mode but once jumper was removed the harvest mode wouldn't happen. Easy install, pulled out the old and installed the new. Unplugged the fridge for 20 minutes to rest everything and that was it. Been making ice like a champ. Thank you.

Worked, then stopped working
Worked for a couple weeks, then it died. I’m sure it died because I tested it with my Multimeter

Didn't last long
Great price, but unfortunately it only lasted about a month, just as other reviewers mentioned. On the upside, it did help me troubleshoot my icemaker, so at least I now know exactly which part I need. I’ll be paying more for the genuine replacement next time.
