I love this book! The explanations for both the tutorials and the patterns are fantastic. This serves as a great companion to Carol Feller's short rows Craftsy class. However, even if you have not taken the class, this book is pretty self explanatory. Since I am someone who learns by doing, what I value most is the wonderful selection of patterns. Most books do not seem to have as wide of a variety of patterns as this book does. It contains everything from simple shawl patterns to larger items, such as sweaters. By working through the patterns, you get multiple opportunities to utilize various techniques and uses for short rows. I have already completed one pattern, am almost ready to finish another, and have a number of additional patterns in my queue. Thus, I have gotten my money's worth and more from this book!

Kudos to The Author for Making Short Rows Fun
I wanted to expand my short row vocabulary as I am always changing knitting patterns. Carol Feller is the goddess of short rows. Her book presents great illustrations of each type of short row and stylish practice projects.

Demystify Short Rows!
This is a fabulous book. I saw Carol Feller in episode 80 of Fruity Knitting last week and was motivated to get this and I’m sure glad I did. Carol has a clear way of explaining Short Rows.

Many nice patterns and good instructions for using short rows for better shaping. A few outlandish patterns I would never care to knit. Good technical information, which is what I wanted, when I bought the book.

Good description of short row techniques
Purchased the book for description of short row technique, not necessarily the patterns included. Text has lengthy description of various types of short row knitting that turned out to be a little complicated. I did find a much easier technique on-line. The author encourages making swatches first of each technique and keeping as a reference. I think that would be a very good idea. Don't try these methods, for the first time, when you are already into a project.

Beautiful
I love, love this book. I have no idea how to do short rows and this book clearly demonstrates it - so once I have figured out how to do it, I am definitely going to knit up two of the sweater patterns and the bag!Beautiful pictures and detailed patterns - perfect, although word to the wise - most of these patterns are labelled as "for intermediate".

Top quality and beautifully done!
Highest recommendation! I've knit a fair number of Carol's designs now and have taken her on-line courses and she is consistently a kind, intelligent and thorough teacher, my favorite instructor, in fact. Short rows are no longer a mystery to me - which is a bit of a miracle :-) and never once, while learning this versatile and very useful technique did she ever make me feel "stupid" in the process.Also...one of my favorite designs of all time is in this book! Jimenez! It's beautiful! And the yarn has been ordered! (Be still my beating heart!!)I'm certain that this book will quickly become a classic, one that sits on every serious knitter's Special Bookshelf. Over this past summer, I have been poring over knitting technique books taken out from the library. I am trying not to buy books to own (in every subject, not just knitting) because I have about 10,000,000 books here at home, many still to be studied, my walls are loaded....but I knew THIS one I needed to own. Like ALL of Carol Feller's work, this is top quality and unique. Cheers (and hope you buy the book! : )
