Cannot wait to start on the projects in this book
What a great instructional text! Pictures are clear and in color, instructions and steps are clear and understandable with accompanying pictures to explain things a little better, and there are check in points along the way to make sure you are on track. Very happy with my purchase and am excited to start with the first project.

Great beginner book
If you have never attempted intarsia, this is the book for you. Step by step instructions and practice excersizes to get you started. Comes with patterns that range from simple to complex. Also has a number of step by step, start too finish projects that will help any level of expertise. Great, informative book.

Glad I got it.
I still need a few more tools to really start doing Intarsia , but I can start with a couple of patterns. Kathy ( Wise ) really explains the procedure well , I've never done intarsia ( it does seem like a fading art although I don't care the patterns are beautiful ) but I'm planning to start.

Anybody can learn this!
This book lays out directions very well. I am a wood working hobbiest. I use a scroll saw mostly, but have had an interest in intarsia for a long time. Always thought would be hard to learn. So glad I got this beginners edition. Clear, precise instructions. I have made the first pattern, a goldfish. Turned out so well, was able to give it away for a birthday present, she loved it! Ready to try more!

Perfect for Beginners
I have had no experience working with a scroll saw or making intarsia projects. This book is well illustrated and has clear instructions. I jumped to the frog for my first project, and it was a learning experience. I feel like I know the details now enough to try other patterns. The book is well worth the money

A brilliant introduction to Intarsia.
I bought this book as a birthday present for a woodworking friend. He had been thinking about trying marquetry but loves the three dimensional aspect the pictures. He have a problem sourcing nice wood where we live.

Motivvielfalt
Sehr schöne Motive, deren Herstellung schrittweise erläutert wird. Auch für "Nichtamerikaner", die der englischen Sprache nicht mächtig sind, verständlich. Die verwendeten Holzarten tw. im Netz nachlesen und durch einheimische Hölzer ersetzen.

Kathy Wise una garanzia!
Se vi piacciono gli animali e il legno, non c'è niente di meglio delle opere di Kathy Wise nell'ambito del tarsio. Il libro può considerarsi il primo di due volumi (il secondo è Intarsia Woodworking Projects), infatti parte dalla base di come si setta il traforo e i primi esercizi di taglio (per imparare ad usare il traforo) fino a progetti di media complessità sempre della stessa artista. Se fate una ricerca su Google, buona parte delle immagini propongono opere di Kathy Wise, molte sono presenti in questo e nel volume successivo.
