Pump worked for 2018 Promaster 1500 oil change
I just used this unit (orange bottom one) today and it worked as advertised. It made changing the engine oil of my 2018 Promaster easier and less messy. I connected the unit (black and red connectors as seen on Frugal Factor video) and set it up with ease. The main thing I realized when starting to drain the oil with this extractor was that I needed to warm up the van (and obviously the oil) to get the oil out. I tried to use the pump without warming up the oil and the oil barely made it half way up the tube. I turned the unit off, removed it, and made sure I closed all the caps I had loosened. Then, I turned the van on and let it idle for 5 minutes (I set a timer) since the van sat in the driveway overnight. The pump instructions note that you should not run “hot” oil through the hoses, so be careful! Once 5 minutes passed, I turned off the van, loosened the oil reservoir cap, removed the dip stick, and set up the unit again following the instructions from the Frugal Factor video. The pump extracted the oil without issue. The unit is portable. The tubes fit appropriately and the pumping performance was what I needed.

It made adding 4 quarts of CVT Fluid easy.
I renewed my CVT fluid many miles ago by hand, with a Slippery Pete hand pump. Lots of labor & time to get 4 quarts at a time into the CVT. CVT only drains 4 quarts at a time, so you drain & refill, drive the car for awhile & then do it another 2 times. CVT holds 12.3 quarts. This pump made that job a dream. It took about 3-4 minutes to pump a quart in. Much quicker than hand pumping. This pump did the 3 refills with no problem. I used it again for my front diff gear oil which took longer per quart than the CVT fluid, I guess higher viscosity oil pumps slower, but I only had to add 1.8 quarts for the differential. For $25 I've already gotten my money's worth out of this pump & it's still working. I'm going to recommend this pump to all of my friend.

Intake tube is too large in circumference to go down a dipstick tube on 2026 Civic.
Useless for my intended purpose. The intake tube is too large to fit down the oil tube of our newer cars. A narrower tube won't fit over the intake nipple. I intended to use this for oil only changes in between full filter and oil changes. It can't be used for that. It's cheap, so I'll put it aside in case I can use it for something else someday.

Good for what it is; how to fix it
I bought this pump for oil changes on a jet ski. I used to remove oil on two jet skis and it worked great. I then used it to suck water out of the bilge, and it stopped working. I'd put dish soap in the bilge water to help remove oil and grease. What I figured out later is that when I used the pump on the soapy water, the soapy water removed the grease from inside of the pump too. When I finished the project above, I took the pump apart. No lube. There is metal on metal contact plus a gasket seal that needs to be air tight. I figured it must need to be lubed. So I packed the moving copper plates, the top of the round wheel, and the inside of the metal cover and put it back together. Good as new. So, if you us it remove oil, you are fine. If you use it to remove anything that will remove the lube (i.e., soapy water, gasoline, etc.),, it will quickly fail but you can fix it.

Replacement sent out quickly
First one delivered “appeared “ it may have been opened already? I tried it out and it was defective. I requested a replacement and seller sent out a new one right away and was delivered the next day and worked great! I suspect first one was returned by another buyer who returned it defective and it accidentally got placed back in inventory and later sent to me in error. I’m very pleased with the whole process.

Excellent Pump for Mercruiser Dipstick Extraction
This pump works great. Bought a manual pump for a mercruiser dipstick extraction that cost.$50.00 and it didn't work. What a waste and a pain. This pump worked great and I had the oil extracted in 10 minutes. I highly recommend it. It shutoff a couple of times at first, but it always started right back up and did it's job.

Very short lifespan
Well I went to use this today on some engine oil and water. Worked for about 2 minutes before it didnt. The oil was slightly slugey so I gave the benefit of the doubt. Cleaned the unit and got it spinning again. Went back to work, was able to transfer about 10 gallons a fluid total before it stopped working for good. I took the unit completely apart, found a loose wire at a connector, repaired that, still won't turn. Can manually turn the gears, but no useful action from the motor. Took the pump apart completely, cleaned a burr from the channel, lube, and reasembled. After turning manually pump started turning on its own, with no load, turned good for about 30 seconds. Tried to run water through it to clean the hoses, worked for about 30 seconds then locked again. Im done. Wish I could return this but im 2 days outside the 30 day return period. So now I guess I have junk.

Great little pump for oil removal!
I've used this several times now, and works very well to pump the oil out of my Mercruiser v6! Wish it had come with a plug-in connection to regular power outlet as well as the clamps to avoid any possible sparks in the engine compartment, but does the job! Suction could be a little stronger, but it is acceptable.
