I’ve tried quite a few styling products over the years, and this Brickell Hair Styling Clay has become one of my favorites. It provides a strong hold that keeps my hair in place throughout the day without feeling stiff or crunchy. The matte finish looks natural, which is exactly what I was looking for. One thing I really appreciate is the texture. Unlike some clays that feel overly sticky or difficult to work with, this one applies smoothly and distributes evenly through my hair. It has just enough grip to style easily without leaving my hands feeling like they’re covered in glue. The scent is another big plus. It’s clean, fresh, and masculine without being overpowering. Once it’s in my hair, the fragrance is noticeable but subtle enough. I was also pleasantly surprised by the value. The price is very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the ingredients and how little product you need for each use. Even though the container is 2 ounces, it feels generous because a small amount goes a long way, so it should last quite a while. Top quality ingredients. Great subtle smell. Overall, excellent. The consistency of the product is definitely that of clay. Apply strategically to wet hair for a more sculpted hold, rub between dry palms and add a little bit of water to spread more uniformly throughout hair. Overall application is pretty easy once you get used to it in, depending upon how you want to utilize the product. Smells a little like something you might find at a hardware store, but not in an unpleasant way. Definitely subtle, and suggesting of good ingredients with no added fragrance or coloring. Even the quality of the ingredients, the size you receive is decent, and depending on how much you use of course, can last quite a while. I will say a little bit goes a long way. At least it did for me. The hold of the product I’d say is medium. It’s not crunchy or crispy like hair gel, but more pliable and stable throughout the entire day. Leaves less of a shine and more of a matte finish and I will say after a week of use, hair seemed to have more volume and was healthier. Rinses out relatively easy, but would recommend utilizing a good clarifying shampoo once in a while, as the product does build up a little bit with repeated use. Would purchase again. Even with the smaller size, given the quality of the ingredients I felt like I got quite a bit for my money. Update February 2026. Love this. I have ordered 2 more. I picked this up after getting tired of styling products that either made my hair look wet or lost their hold after a few hours. This clay performs as it says. The hold is definitely strong enough to keep my hair in place throughout the day, but it still looks natural and doesn't have that stiff, crunchy feel. A little goes a long way, so the jar should last quite a while. Some clays leave a heavy buildup on my hands and hair, but this one feels relatively lightweight once it's worked in. The matte finish looks natural and adds some texture without making my hair look dry. Overall, it's become part of my regular routine. Also has a nice, subtle, clean smell.

The product is very good in general. After try it I can say have a good hold level and is not too strong, which in my opinion is good. The style last almost all day depending on what you are doing that day. My work is sedentary so basically work for almost all day. At first was a little bit difficult learn how to actually use it since is a paste and I usually use gel but using some water help and style very well. The shine in the hair is good, texture is good, and you do not see white flakes in your hair with the time. Regarding the quality of the ingredients are good and no toxic. Scent was good and size of the product decent. If you can afford it I will recommend it.

I am somewhat of a hygiene product junkie. Not terrible, but I do try many different products for hair, skin oral health, supplements etc. Now, If I find what I love and really works, I will stay loyal as long as the product stays consistent. (Companies do change formulas some times, thinking they're improving it, but that is not always the case) Brickell is one of those companies that I have come to really love and respect, in that many of their products just work for me, and are really of such great quality! I have been using the Hair Styling Clay Pomade for Men, with Strong Hold and Matte finish. Pros: 1 - This pomade has the correct texture in my mind. One "must" for a good hair pomade, is that it must emulsify in your hands when you put some in your hand and rub your palms together. It must break down into an almost invisible "cream" because if it doesn't, you get visible "chunks" of product in your hair. NO one wants to look like they have big pieces of dandruff hanging around! ha Brickell's Styling Clay does this perfectly! 2 - If you buy a styling pomade that says "Strong Hold", then it should be strong hold! Brickell got this right; this product does what it says. Your hair will stay in place. 3 - Just because a styling pomade is strong hold does NOT mean it should be difficult to administer into your hair. If you know, you know.......there are more than a few strong hold, styling clays out there that are SO stiff, #1 you can barely scrape it out of the jar, and #2, you can't break it down and it has not choice but to go on fairly clumpy. Total deal breaker in my book; too hard to work with. 4- This product smells nice! I do not need my hair styling products to have any scent at all, but if it's going to, I prefer it to smell manly enough, and it needs to be subtle. I wear good colognes, and I do not want me other products trying to compete and give off all kinds of different scents. Brickell's Styling Clay Pomade for Men, is both nicely scented and very subtle; no overpowering going on here. Cons: Really, there is only one, and it is not the product's issue, it's the user... I have pretty fine, thin hair. This styling clay will work for pretty much everyone elses hair.....normal, thicker, longer, etc. For me, it is maybe just a bit too much. Since my hair is so thin and fine (and I really wish it wasn't, but you get what God gives you), it definitely controls it, but seems to slightly overdefine it and gets too many hairs to stick together and then gives me more space to see my head. Not in a terrible way by any means, but again, not the product's fault, I just need to drop down and get the next Brickell styling product down a notch with a bit less "strong hold". When your hair is fine like mine, you just don't need that strong of a product. :) For 95% of everyone else, get the Brickell Hair Styling Clay Pomade for men if you want a product that will give you nice control, great hold and with a very natural matte finish!

I am a big fan and repeat customer of a host of other Brickell products in their skin care and facial line. Never have I been disappointed. After an internal battle with myself to change my existing hair product was a huge internal struggeand I finally decided to give the Pomade a try. It did not disappoint! Another great product from Brickell. The packaging is elegant, classy and very compact. The compact size is perfect for travel or carry bag away for the weekend. The high quality of the ingredients and the organic nature is a big plus. The scent is subtle yet the hold strong and long lasting. My hair is important to me so I am conscious of my hair products. The Pomade has a smooth texture and is easy to apply. I apply it to damp hair and the hair holds well throughout the day. I can run my hands through the hair and it has a nice feel to it. It has a matte finish and the hair has a clean non-greasy look and feel. Even better than my existing product which leaves my hair stiff. I would highly recommend this product. It is a high quality, effective, easy to use and low maintenance.
