Got this as a Christmas present for my mom. It was a decent size when it came in, taking two hands to encompass. It weighs a good amount, not a lead paper weight or anything but it's good. The amber coloring is accurate and rich, fortunately! Doesn't seem too fragile either. However... My problem is with how the mosquito is put in it. It's a flat 2D image encased in resin. From a distance, and at the right angle, it looks great! But because it is a 2D image, it has to be viewed in a very specific way. I wish it was more clearly communicated that this was the case.

Double stars. Que lindo. Not too heavy so you can carry in a purse too!!! I never had any Jurassic Park merch except a shirt but now I have a couple things. It's not heavy at all like your standard paperweight. Some people would take a couple stars off for that but I like the setting of Jurassic Park so much that I've given all the stars. It will rest flat and hold down a few papers but just keep that in mind.

Overall, this item is a fairly decent value for what it is, a lower grade collectible on a mass market scale. I can live with the visible seams when viewed at the right angle and in reality, most of the people that have seen this in my home have not noticed. I do wish the mosquito inside would have been a 3D model or even plastic toy as it is noticeably flat. If the weight doesn't move too frequently on the desk, it's not terribly noticeable. As a side note, it did work for the project I had in mind. I 3D printed the top of Hammond's cane and after a little paint, some super glue and attaching an LED candle, it made for a pretty neat little desk ornament. It looks like a 1:1 scale version of his cane. Overall, the paperweight by itself is good, not great. If you're looking to use it in a project however, it may be good enough. As a side note, the image shows a felt pad under the paperweight, however, it was not present on mine and the JP logo and copyright was silkscreened right to the amber. This actually helped me as the light shines through now and projects the JP logo at the top of the amber, however, if you're concerned with needing bottom padding, be aware.

This product was for a child who is enthused by dinosaurs and archeology. This is a great piece but it is waaaaaaaaaaay overpriced.
