I purchased it for my shop and it is underground, hidden from sight. I had to double-check to make sure it was working, and I found out that it makes hardly any nouse. I have a slightly larger model at my house, and when it turns on, everyone in the house knows it is on because it is loud. This model is the way to go for inside your house. Review: Expensive, but does a great job! - Very easy to install but as other reviews have claimed, make sure you use copious amounts of quality thread tape. The manufacturer specifies no dope can be used, only tape. I thought I used enough the first time (about 6 or 7 layers) but it leaked. I went nutty and wrapped it almost 20 times and haven't had an issue since. This pump is extremely quiet. It creates even less noise than my AC or heat. I mounted mine to a piece of 1x4 cca and used rubber furniture pucks also to dampen any vibration noise. In retrospect, I probably didn't need any of that. The pump I chose only puts out a consistent 38 psi. My main line was putting out anywhere between 40 and 45 psi. You definitely need to install a regulator. I installed a pressure regulator before the pump to make the pump get 30psi going in to pump intake.
