Unsearched Gold Paydirt straight from the mine! Gold straight from the mine! "Pickers" (small gold nuggets) Review: 2 lb picking and grinning - My son and I are going to rock hound and pan for gold in Montana and Wyoming for a week or so. I ordered the 2# picker bag for practice as Ryan and I have never panned before. This paydirt fit the bill. We found 6 picker nuggets and a lot of gold dust. $45 worth of gold, no, but it sure beat practicing with local dirt and bbs! Review: DONT BOTHER WASTING YOUR MONEY - Horrible. You might as well go out and dig dirt in your yard. My 12 year old helped me go through it at least 3-4 times in different fashions. Dry little by little on a big white paper board on a table, then we went through it little by little in a bowl with some water over a bigger bowl. The title is pickers and it should be a couple flakes. Don't bother wasting your money seriously.

Nice Pickers, good Color, fun to pan!
This red/brown, fairly dry dirt was fun to pan. It was a nice change from the darker brown dirt I usually pan. After classifying with a #20 screen and washing out the clay I found about 20 good pickers & 1 small picker/nugget in my first pass. I got approximately 0.18 grams of nice, bright gold, and can see some gold flour that will need more work to retrieve. Not too much black sand in the dirt I received. Not the "richest" paydirt I have panned, but some of the most fun. After all, this is not a way to get rich, but a hobby! Good dirt for someone just getting started, or for folks with less patience, as the bright gold is easy to spot, and of a decent size.

Low ROI
There were a couple of tiny pickers in the material. There is gold in the material... but honestly far from the best material I have purchased online. Maybe other batches would be better/worse. The product is okay if you have that kind of money to spend. Don't expect a high return on investment.

My Final Analysis
I am taking this very seriously. I just spent $45 for a bag of dirt with an unknown amount of gold in it, yes it is a gamble. I am completely new to gold panning but I have the fever. Got a tub, pans, classifier, bilge pump, magnets, separator, rock picks and the sluice is on the way. I also have a scale that is accurate to .001 grams. I am going to go through this dirt several times until I am sure I have every last molecule of gold. I also purchased a smaller 1lb bag of dirt from another supplier and will do the same thing with that dirt and will weigh the evidence so to speak and will post my results. For now I am giving 5 stars for fast delivery, also the dirt looks promising, I have a good feeling about this.. Ok, it is a couple weeks later and was wanting to give a more accurate review but I screwed up and ended up having to mix dirt from this 2 lb bag and another 1 lb bag from a different distributor. I mainly bought this dirt because this is my first attempt at panning gold and this really helped me in developing a good technique and learning how the gold behaves in the pan. I went through the sample several times and found my process was not leaving anything behind. Having said that the photos I am posting are the combined haul. It would be fair to roughly estimate that this bag yielded 2/3 of the gold seen in the picks.. The total weight is .554g not bad at all. The gold to currency converter tells me $20.43 at 1147 per ounce

Fun, but disapointting
Knew they would never send more gold than they were selling it for, but was hoping for at least one small nugget. Found 5 pickers, bordering on flakes and a dusting of finer gold. Perhaps the next buyer will be more fortunate. Can't all be winners.

Not worth the $$
Seller apparently didn't believe me that there was only 2 pickers and 3 flakes. They told me to recheck the batch. We sat there for hours going through it. Don't waste your money.
