Hello - Our GoSports SpeedStix 2 Pack includes 2 tear proof composite leather surface sticks that have a thick, high density foam core to minimize impact. The precision sticks also feature 2 handles for extra grip and comfort that may appear to be a carrying case, but this is the overall design of the product. If you have any further questions, please contact info@PlayGoSports.com and we can assist you. -GoSports Team

How long do they keep their stiffness and overall usefulness with regular (daily) use?

I've had mine for a year and they are used pretty solidly in my private lessons (probably 15-20 times per week) and they've held up really well.
